00:00There's a gift waiting for our countrymen health care workers before the week ends.

00:07This is because you don't have to wait until 2025 to receive your remaining Health Emergency Allowance Claims.

00:17Tomorrow, the Department of Budget and Management will issue P27 Billion Pesos

00:22as a fund for the remaining payment to the health care workers who sacrificed for the COVID-19 pandemic.

00:30This is also in accordance with President R. Marcos Jr.'s order.

00:35Remember that as stated yesterday in an interview with Health Secretary Chidoro Herbosa

00:41in the PTV Presa Special Coverage, the government's target is to be fully paid to our countrymen health care workers this year.

00:51According to the budget secretary, this is one of the promises of the President that was fulfilled.

00:57Because even though the DOH requested that the fund be included in the Fiscal Year 2025 National Expenditure Program,

01:05the DBM tried to issue it earlier.

01:10Included in the Public Health Emergency Benefits and Allowances Program is the Special Risk Allowance,

01:17compensation for COVID-19 sickness and death, and additional benefits such as food and transportation.

01:26Our President gave instructions that we should be able to pay our arrears for Health Emergency Allowance this year.

01:39And with that, we are already processing it and we will issue the 27 billion pesos arrears for HEA this Friday.

01:52So, we no longer owe money to our Health Emergency Professionals and Workers.

02:00That was the promise of our President last year.

02:06That's why we are happy that we were able to give what we need to be paid to our health workers who helped us during the pandemic.

02:18The budget for next year, as stated by the Secretary of Health, the budget for the allowance is no longer there.

02:25I said, why is it not there?

02:26It looks like we can give it this year.

02:28I should take care of them. I should give them housing. I should give them health benefits.

02:34Our other health workers queue up for medical assistance for indigent patients when their families are sick.

02:42The same health care workers?

02:43Yes, that's why I want our health workers to have health care.
