13:54makes it work cuz he doesn't feel like
13:55he's going out of his way to manipulate

14:04want see you pick the scene up here
14:07that's effective all that nonsense of
14:09leading up to this with these characters
14:11is silly to

14:43tip the scales but if he did this why
14:45would he send us a distress signal it's

14:48way she used her lightsaber that was
14:50cool that was different yeah I have no

15:25the end of the episode
15:30that is a cool looking mask though I
15:32love how scarred it
15:35is it does it end
15:40now wonder what it smells like in there

15:48know can barely see anything all you
15:51have is the force I actually enjoyed
15:53that episode um the only stuff I didn't
15:55like was any stuff with the um the other
15:57Jedi I just didn't care for it it it
16:00felt like filler it's like we're really
16:02handholding you to this scene when you
16:04pick it up with Jackie Jackie Jackie on
16:06the floor with surrounded by the Jedi
16:08it's like I think you can put two and
16:09two together as the audience as to how
16:11this all transpired right they just go
16:13okay we need to go boom with yeah it's
16:16like clearly you know Soul has not been
16:18responding and you even have that moment
16:20where he shuts off the Cs and all that
16:21stuff it's like you get it but outside
16:23of that like this I thought this episode
16:25was pretty good it it felt kind of like
16:27what you typically would see like okay
16:29the first thing I think of is like
16:30Empire Strikes Back with Luke Skywalker
16:32and Yodo and that whole training and
16:34stuff like that there a lot of it's very
16:36dialogue it's like kind of guiding him
16:37through mentally and spiritually to
16:39becoming a Jedi right and you had a
16:42similarish scene or or sets of scenes in
16:45The Last Jedi with Again Luke uh but
16:48with um Ray Skywalker whatever the heck
16:51her name is and um yeah it's like it's a
16:54lot of like understanding
16:55philosophically you know this path and
16:57so I actually that stuff was good in
16:59terms of the acting in terms of the
17:01leadup in terms of you know kind of uh
17:03bringing uh uh OSHA from I guess one
17:07kind of thinking to the other you know
17:09what I mean he was leading her towards
17:11something that she probably already was
17:13inside right you know yeah I mean cuz we
17:15all have those feelings right I think
17:18the whole idea is it's balance right so
17:20it's like choosing more one or the other
17:23choosing which side to embrace but yeah
17:25I'm finding him uh the Sith Manny jino's
17:30character to be the most comp compelling
17:33right now like and and he's doing such a
17:35great job with his delivery as well like
17:38I have so much curiosity around him I'm
17:41like wait I don't care about anyone else
17:44right now I just want to know his
17:45backstory like what happened to him what
17:47led him to give up being a Jedi and to
17:51choose this path instead and he's
17:54talking about oh it happened a long long
17:55time ago I'm like wait okay but how long
17:57like I need to know like you're so
17:59fascinating to me right now like OSHA
18:01and
18:02may whatever it's all about him well I
18:05think you know a certain amount of
18:07things being cryptic is just a a
18:10component of Star Wars right um as you
18:13go along and I I guess you know some
18:14things will get explained later but you
18:16don't need to know everything but the
18:17issue that happens with the show is it
18:19draws attention to itself like in
18:22previous episodes when Soul was not
18:24divulging information it's like okay
18:26you're it's very clear there's a delay
18:29of information that is not yet divulged
18:31to the audience and it's like when you
18:32make it so obvious that's when it's
18:34frustrating it's when you slowly
18:36discover things as you go and the
18:38picture broadens and as as you as the
18:41audience and you get a bigger and bigger
18:42sense as to what's going on and there's
18:44this discovery that's fun yes you know
18:47it's not fun when you're like okay well
18:49clearly this is not everything you know
18:51right and and they keep they keep doing
18:53the thing where they're like I need to
18:54tell you something yeah oh crap but not
18:57right now I need to tell you something
18:59yeah or i' I've been working on this
19:01speech for the past 16 years and and
19:04you're going to listen to it it's like
19:05yeah what choice does she have you've
19:07literally tied her of course she's going
19:09to have to listen to it you know just
19:11say it just say it like we've we've all
19:14been waiting and it does feel like that
19:15like the show was like this was the
19:17coolest tidbit of story and we're just
19:19going to drag it out for as long as
19:22possible to keep people here until the
19:25end of the series or the end of the show
19:27because otherwise they would just have
19:29left well they're going to have to
19:30deliver it next week yeah I mean he's
19:33it's literally set up to be delivered
19:34next week right um at least as far as
19:37this goes and so that's the frustrating
19:39part it just feels like blue balls on
19:41the same thing again and again and again
19:43it's like just say it dude just yeah I
19:45don't I don't mind a different blue
19:46balls every week or you know tease
19:49portions of it until we get the whole
19:51picture you know it's we're not getting
19:53anything I mean I suppose there's an
19:55argument to be made that we they have
19:56teased portions of it indirectly we know
19:59they did something there that was not
20:02right we know that something went down
20:04and they've been keeping it secret this
20:06whole time but it's like what is that
20:07and I wonder as well if maybe there's
20:09some sort of connection to the Sith they
20:13are like yeah but it seems strange cuz
20:16it was all women there so like what
20:18would he have done but that would be
20:19cool yeah the the show has definitely
20:22improved um as it's gone along it's just
20:24that episode 3 and four were so rough
20:26you know one and two were promising
20:28three and four was like uh and then the
20:30last week was like really cool action
20:32and this one really gave us that stuff
20:35that you know it feels like master in
20:38paduan you know yeah um in in the best
20:40of ways I I I think that it's just done
20:43effectively at least from his part um I
20:45I don't know how I don't I don't know if
20:47I'm 100% on board with the the actress
20:49who's playing OSHA she's got her moments
20:52right but like there are some moments
20:54where I'm just like okay whatever let's
20:55just keep moving forward you know what I
20:56mean it's like I don't hate it I don't
20:58love it it's just like it just exists
21:00whereas he is like he's giving a lot of
21:02stuff there's like a lot of layers and
21:04Nu the Sith Lord yeah he's got a lot
21:06going on that's interesting whether he
21:08is playing like the you know the goobery
21:10guy or you know revealing himself or
21:13he's or he's like walking her through
21:16this stuff you know making her his pan
21:19like it's it's he's got interesting
21:20layers to him that's fun to watch yeah
21:22he's making the character just so cool
21:26because yeah like you said he's he's
21:28using everything at his disposal and
21:31he's kind of drawing us the audience in
21:34with this sense of enigma and mystery
21:37it's like who are you though and you're
21:39saying things that like make sense it
21:42makes me feel like I would probably be
21:45drawn to the dark side you know like
21:47quite easily I think the biggest issue
21:50with the stuff with soul and and kind of
21:53prolonging this you know delaying this
21:56information I think the biggest issue
21:58with it is what could he possibly say
22:01that makes it satisfying to have waited
22:03six episodes or seven episodes to learn
22:06right you know um there was this I okay
22:08I'm I'm about to share something from
22:10Game of Thrones House of the Dragon
22:12episode three I think is what we saw
22:14right right towards the end of the
22:15episode I won't be specific in case you
22:16haven't seen it but towards the end of
22:18the episode there was this like uh uh
22:20delay of information that was happening
22:22and I thought that they were just going
22:23to cut off the episode before they
22:25actually gave it to us but they gave it
22:26to us and it was so satisfying but then
22:29what they did with the information on
22:30top of that made it even more
22:32interesting and they took it further in
22:33a direction that I wasn't expecting
22:34which I should have because it's Game of
22:36Thrones but all that to say is they
22:38didn't make us wait several episodes to
22:39get that info right right it's like they
22:42gave it to us and they expanded on it
22:44from there to give us somewhere to go
22:46mentally emotionally whatever to be
22:48excited for the next thing whereas it's
22:49like this it's like I don't think
22:50there's anything he could possibly say
22:52that makes it worth the weight of seven
22:54episodes right if you are going to do
22:55that it better be freaking mindblowing
22:58like just you know and yeah I feel like
23:03yeah it might not be and also like you
23:05say take it further like keep surprising
23:09the audience that's how you keep people
23:11coming back yeah I'm guessing what we're
23:13going to learn is that you know he
23:15basically executed all of those witches
23:17right that's the and then blamed it on
23:19me whoopsie sorry yeah I suppose the
23:22idea is that soul is like corrupted as
23:25well he's a corrupted Jedi or something
23:26like that it's all about corruption I
23:28mean it's literally baked into the title
23:30you know uh and so the question then
23:32becomes like who is actually the corrupt
23:34everybody corrupted everybody's
23:36corrupted it's okay nobody's perfect you
23:39know what I mean anyway uh fun episode
23:42um or at least like most of it was fun I
23:43really wish they deleted that stuff with
23:45the Jedi well okay I understand that you
23:48enjoyed it I'm glad you enjoyed it I
23:50enjoyed his funny little weird moments
23:53but you're right it it could have been
23:55taken out and it wouldn't have changed
23:58the story at all I I don't know if they
24:00just decided they like this character or
24:02they like this actor and they wanted to
24:04give him a little bit more screen time
24:05or if he's going to become a more
24:08important character later on I just
24:10think about what is most effective with
24:12storytelling right if your first
24:14realization that the Jedi are following
24:16up on things is seeing Jackie's Jackie's
24:19head facing the camera and the Jedi
24:21behind her that's a great shot like that
24:23was a great reveal it's like okay that
24:26is where you start with these characters
24:28because that's the most interesting
24:29place to start you know all this
24:31nonsense leading up to is just like
24:33faffing and and it's jokes that are not
24:35funny to me you know to me and may maybe
24:38there's a whole bunch of audience that
24:39is humored by it I just think it's a
24:41waste of time like the whole thing about
24:42her having nausea through space that
24:44didn't even come up and I'm like okay
24:46yeah you're right that's silly unless it
24:48comes up like in a later episode or
24:51something and then like she bus while
24:53they're going through hyperspace that
24:55would be me it was played for Laughs it
24:57it amused the director or the writer the
25:00show Runners and I'm like you needed to
25:02focus group this [ __ ] because it wasn't
25:04that funny in my opinion but like I'm
25:06not a comedy writer so maybe it was
25:08funny to the editors and to the
25:10producers and and the actors and they
25:11couldn't stop laughing on set you know
25:13maybe it was funny to them um it didn't
25:15tickle me so sure um so for me it just
25:18felt like wa two scenes wasted that
25:20could have been used for uh Souls speech
25:23or something you know or like more
25:26character building or relationship
25:27building between OSHA and the S I've
25:31been like teetering on like which
25:33direction to go and I've been holding
25:35judgment but I'm not in love with the
25:37acting from the green Jedi lady there's
25:39something about her acting I'm just like
25:40she's delivering the lines and then
25:43that's I I don't know what to say about
25:44it I just don't love the performance so
25:46here's what I'm wondering I'm wondering
25:49if maybe that performance is kind of
25:51showing us the audience that there is
25:54something else that she is hiding we
25:57supect we've suspected
25:58that's that's kind of the sense that
26:00I've been getting it's like she's not
26:02completely like 100% honest about
26:05anything and so I'm also wondering if
26:08we're going to get some sort of reveal
26:10from her about stuff that went down and
26:14like maybe she's not as you know upfront
26:16and goodh as she ought to be as a Jedi
26:21yeah and maybe that's kind of informing
26:23her acting choices yeah I don't know
26:25yeah we won't know until the end this is
26:28this is repetitive at this point but I
26:29think that that scene covered a lot of
26:31what the previous two scenes were trying
26:32to do it's like they're investigating
26:34[ __ ] now and in that scene you hear like
26:36The Echoes of what what transpired and
26:39like her kind of figuring it all out and
26:41what the scene tells you is they figured
26:43the [ __ ] out they got a lot of the data
26:45except they're not exactly sure what
26:46Soul's about you know the there was this
26:48sort of uh accusation that came up like
26:50maybe Soul did this and that's like an
26:52interesting thought you know right um
26:54and so the questions that rose out of
26:57that scene were interesting interesting
26:58stuff and then it leaves it's like yes
27:01that's a good scene like for the most
27:04part like that was that was some decent
27:06scenes uh like in terms of the writing
27:08so again I must emphasize what the why
27:10did they keep those two previous scenes
27:13like it was just a waste anyway uh I
27:16don't want to beat a dead horse so uh
27:19you guys um yeah I enjoyed this episode
27:21more and it has been improving
27:23thankfully cuz I was ready to like you
27:24know for it to not um but it's been
27:26getting better and so I'm I'm looking
27:28looking forward to seeing how you know
27:29this how many episodes we got left one
27:31two right two anyway I'm looking I'm
27:33looking forward to seeing how it
27:34progresses and uh and I'm hoping for the
27:36best fingers crossed fingers crossed
