00:05A single dad, accused of killing his toddler son in Blackpool, admitted in court he was responsible for a bite mark on the boy's thigh.
00:15But Daniel Hardcastle said he had accidentally caused the injury during a bout of play-fighting and would never hurt him intentionally, a judge was told during a murder trial at Preston Crown Court.
00:26The 31-year-old tattoo artist has pleaded not guilty to murdering two-year-old Damian Russell, who died two days after suffering a catastrophic head injury in the lounge of their home in Blackpool on August 21st last year.
00:39The trial continues.
00:41A man who was with missing Oswald teenager Jay Slater at an Airbnb the night before he went missing on the island of Tenerife has spoken out.
00:49Ayub Kazim invited Jay back to the remote holiday cottage near the village of Masca after a night out in Playa de las Americas.
00:57The 19-year-old went missing on June 17th after he left the holiday accommodation to catch a bus back towards his own accommodation on the other side of the island.
01:07But he missed the bus and attempted to walk the 20-mile journey.
01:11Mr Kazim told the Mail Online that Jay went to the Airbnb alive and left the premises alive.
01:17He said he let him stay there because he had nowhere else to go after he became separated from his friends.
01:23The search for Jay continues and police are pursuing several lines of inquiry.
01:27Police have charged a man following an assault in Briarfield near Burnley.
01:32Officers were called to Arthur Street, Briarfield around 10pm on July 2nd to report of an assault and found a man in his 30s had suffered stab wounds.
01:42A 27-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of July 3rd.
01:47Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, police have charged Rehan Ahmed, 27, of Commercial Street, Briarfield with Section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
01:59He was remanded in custody to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court today.
02:04Plans to convert an n-terrace house in Ince near Wigan into a six-bedroom house of multiple occupation have been approved despite concerns from Wigan Council's leader.
02:15Colin Molyneux, who is also a ward councillor for Ince, has questioned the suitability of the property on Bryn Street to be used as an HMO, citing parking and waste bin storage issues.
02:28However, in a report by officers on Wigan's online planning portal, the application relates to considerations of a legal matter and therefore concerns raised are not relevant to the determination of the application.
