00:00So, congratulations Andrew, how do you feel about your victory tonight?
00:05Well, apart from being in desperate need of sleep and recuperation, well it's something
00:14which of course I'm enormously pleased and proud of. It's very humbling to have an ambition
00:20to fight for the area you were born and brought up in and to represent people who are across
00:29the constituency have been, to me, very inspiring. I'll take with me to Westminster a very strong
00:40impression of the passions and interests and needs and demands for justice that they've
00:48expressed to me over the recent weeks and will no doubt do so in the coming days and
00:55months.
00:56What do you think your main task is going to be now you're back in the Houses of Parliament?
01:00Well I mean there's such a wide range of matters that need to be restored. I mean the health
01:07service is frankly on its knees as the biggest crisis in its 76 year history and the housing
01:15emergency is clearly also a massive issue for the local area. I mean those are probably
01:22going to be amongst the most pressing issues if you like for immediate attention. But of
01:28course those other matters that need addressing in order to be able to meet our climate and
01:35nature targets and so on will need to be included in some of the early action. But I'm keen
01:45to start speaking to the new government and to find out how they're going to address those
01:53issues and how I can assist with them.
01:56But for now, sleep?
01:57Well yeah I think a brief period of sleep but I think the demands will be great. But
02:07I'm looking forward to working with a stonkingly larger parliamentary team than I've been used
02:13to working with and it'll be a great opportunity for us.
02:18And you must be really pleased with that margin as well?
02:21Yes, it's a phenomenal margin. I must say when we started we were recognising that it
02:29was going to be a marginal contest. We weren't expecting such an overwhelming majority.
02:35Congratulations.
02:36Thank you very much.
02:37Thanks for your time.
02:38Thank you.
02:39Thank you.
