00:00Emotional? You look a bit emotional.
00:02No, I don't know, to be honest. I mean, it's just draining now, you know, to get to this stage at this time of the morning.
00:08You probably know that better than I do.
00:10We've got about another two hours of work to do.
00:12Better than I do.
00:14You know, but it hasn't sunk in yet.
00:16The most important thing for me, you know, is the fact that we've got a Labour government.
00:20You know, just electing the Labour MP doesn't really, you know, unless it comes with a Labour government.
00:26It's now about putting those first steps into action so that we can start to turn the page,
00:33to put the country on a different trajectory, you know,
00:36to make sure that people feel that politics is being done for them
00:39and that they've got a government that serves its people.
00:42And I just think that's been so important.
00:44What I'll do is I'll give people a voice and the communities a voice
00:48to make sure that they're heard in Westminster,
00:51but more importantly than that, work in the communities.
00:54This is not about, here's what's happening in Westminster.
00:56We know that. We're fed up with that.
00:58Here's what's happening in Corby and East Northamptonshire.
01:01You know, I'm going to Pengreen on Saturday.
01:03They've got an open day. I can't think of a better place to start
01:06because it's dripping in Labour values, in my opinion.
01:10You know, and to go there, not just as an advocate for them,
01:13but their friend and their Member of Parliament who's going to speak up for them.
01:17And that's why I'm doing this, you know, for people and places like that.
01:22Are you going to have a time-off maybe next week?
01:25I think Sunday's looking OK at the minute,
01:28but I don't really know what happens.
01:31You know, somebody told me that...
01:35Yeah, I don't really know what happens next, so I'm just waiting.
01:38I don't know if somebody's going to phone me or what.
01:41I don't know.
01:43Well, it's not surprising that you wouldn't know what happens,
01:46but would you like to pay tribute to anybody in particular
01:49who's helped you through the past year, really?
01:52I mean, I guess your family have made a lot of sacrifices, I know.
01:55Yeah, I mean, and that's where it starts.
01:58I mean, you don't go into something like this without their support
02:01and without talking to them about it.
02:04And, you know, everything that I've got goes to them.
02:08And also the campaigners,
02:10the people that have pretty much walked every step of the way with us.
02:14You can't do something like this.
02:16What we did and what was so important is...
02:19Corby and East North Anse is a massive constituency,
02:22so we put structures in place all over that constituency
02:25to make sure that East North Anse felt as much a part of it
02:28as what Corby does, because we knew that to get this over the line,
02:32we had to make sure we reached into parts of this constituency
02:35we haven't reached into before, and we managed to do that.
02:38But my commitment is to everybody, because I've met everybody,
02:41even those that don't support me, even those that didn't vote for me,
02:44is to say to them that I'll be their MP as well.
