Maidstone and Malling MP Helen Grant has outlined her priorities upon learning she's been reelected.

00:00What will you be campaigning for, from day one?

00:03Well it's all the things that people have been talking to me about.

00:07Protecting our precious green spaces, controlling our borders,

00:11trying to keep taxes down, improving our NHS, improving our schools.

00:16There's a lot to do and the work starts tomorrow.

00:19And house building, new homes, is a big issue here in Maidstone.

00:24Under Labour, are you worried there are going to be more homes, new builds, coming into this local area?

00:30Yeah, I am worried. I mean, Keir Starmer said that he will bulldoze the planning rules and regulations.

00:37He's said that he's going to declassify the green belt.

00:41So yeah, we're going to be fighting from the word go to make sure we keep these green and special places

00:49so that our children and our grandchildren have them to enjoy.

00:54And we need these spaces for our physical and mental health.

00:58So yeah, I will be fighting as of this morning.
