00:00Yeah.
00:01It's fine.
00:02It's a good one.
00:03Yeah.
00:04Are you guys just having a conversation?
00:05Oh, you're just working.
00:07Just kidding.
00:08Just kidding.
00:09Just kidding.
00:10Just kidding.
00:11I like it.
00:14Yeah.
00:15I'm just working.
00:31I, Robert Connolly, being the Acting Lieutenant Officer of the above election, do hereby give
00:51notice that the number of votes recorded for each candidate at the said election is as
00:56follows.
00:57Gill, Pre-Court, Labour and Co-operative Party, 16,599.
01:05I must say, each and every one of you will agree that it's been an inspiration to see
01:13the youngest member of the team, a 15-year-old, Sebastian, come out with us in the numbers
01:19that he did and the amount of time and effort that he did put in.
01:24Once again, the people of Walgreen and Mouthly have spoken loud and clear in line with what
01:32has been demonstrated across the country tonight.
01:36They have put their trust in me and I will continue to fight and be their voice in Parliament.
01:42They have voted for better living standards, a better NHS, less school children to go to
01:50school, better housing conditions, less age allowance and holding to account road drivers.
01:57I will pledge to make sure that the 16-19 same transport is at the heart of the fight
02:05against apartheid.
02:06I hope that along with you, the statute can do some of this.
02:11We understand that the whole of Walgreens standing up for you is making such reticence.
02:19Anyway, this election has been neutral.
02:41This election has been the worst election I have ever stood in.
02:47Today, a brilliant community activist who puts on events for every single part of our
02:55community came out to campaign with me and people filmed her on the streets and then
03:03slashed her tyres.
03:06A young woman on her own delivering leaflets was filmed and screamed at by a much older
03:20man in the street.
03:24Today, I was to be joined by the family of Jo Cox who wanted to come out and campaign
03:34with me and there is absolutely no one I could have allowed for them to see what was aggressive
03:45and violence in our democracy.
03:50And then, to the positive, Birmingham Yardley gave my family everything that we had.
03:59And today, actually not today, yesterday, was the 30th anniversary of my mother dying
04:05and my mother was born in Gleneagles Road in Yardley and my dad lived in a council house
04:13around the corner.
04:15And everything good that they ever had and everything good that my children had, that
04:21I had as a child, was provided for us by successive Labour governments.
04:29I know what a Muslim looks like.
04:33A Muslim looks like me.
04:36I know what Muslim values are.
04:44Muslim values are mine and they are British values too.
04:49Decency.
04:51Respect.
04:52Kindness.
04:58And in all this, let's not forget, today is a day of triumph.
05:03They thought they could intimidate us, but they couldn't.
05:07They thought they could silence us, but they couldn't.
05:11They thought they could beat us, but they didn't.
05:19We ran a positive campaign here in Ladywood.
05:22We campaigned for change.
05:25Change here and change in our country.
05:28I want to thank the people of Ladywood.
05:31We tried to reject the politics of division and embrace the politics of hope.
05:36They are a reminder of who we really are.
05:39I'm very sorry to inform you folks, but nobody has ever succeeded in shouting me down and
05:44you won't stop now.
