00:00Bristol, you made history today. Together we did it. We elected our city's first Green
00:15MP. So bear with me, I've got a lot of thank yous. Firstly and most importantly I want
00:24to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted Green. I'm incredibly grateful that you put
00:31your trust in me. And to everyone who gave your vote to someone else this time, I'm here
00:40for you, ready to listen to you and work hard for you too. Thank you to those who've been
00:47part of this journey throughout. Green Party volunteers, staff, my councillor colleagues
00:54past and present and council staff, including those running the election and the count.
00:59It has been a privilege to work with you in the weeks, months and years leading up to
01:04today. Thank you too and well done to all the candidates who put themselves out there.
01:11Even though we don't agree on every policy, I recognise the dedication, commitment and
01:16sometimes sacrifice you put into this important part of the democratic process. And finally,
01:23thank you to Thangam for your nine years as a brilliant, hardworking constituency.
01:41I will do my very best to continue to help the people of Bristol Central as well as you
01:46have done. Thank you. This incredible city has long had my heart and the warmth and positivity
01:58I have felt during this campaign has been truly humbling. I feel so privileged to have
02:04this opportunity to serve you and to ensure that the real hope that inspired so many people
02:11to vote Green is represented in Parliament. I can't wait to get started.
