00:00Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today, we're counting down our picks for those delightful moments
00:09when we could absolutely bet on Zac Efron lighting up our screens with his humor and
00:13charm.
00:18Number 10.
00:19Surprising Simone Biles, today.
00:21When Simone Biles won gold at the Rio Olympics, little could she have expected that it would
00:25only be one of her high points of the day.
00:28The whole Final Five squad couldn't believe their eyes when Zac Efron walked in, but Simone
00:32was especially floored.
00:47Efron is super sweet and humble, and it's clear that he's a big fan of theirs, too.
00:54If you're looking for a feel-good moment to brighten your day, this is it.
01:03Winning gold medals, and they're done that if you're Biles, but meeting Zac Efron?
01:08Now that's next-level excitement.
01:09We bet if she got back on the floor, she'd jump higher than ever.
01:13Celebrities, eh?
01:14They're just like us.
01:24Number 9.
01:25A high school theater kid throwback, Jimmy Kimmel Live.
01:42Although Efron got his big break in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical,
01:47we didn't really get to hear his true singing voice until the 2007 sequel.
01:59We can only imagine the kids who went to high school with him wondered why they didn't use
02:03his real singing voice in the first movie.
02:05They had probably watched him in his actual high school musical, You're a Good Man, Charlie
02:09Brown.
02:10Thanks, apparently, to his old drama teacher and Jimmy Kimmel, we got a fun glimpse of
02:14that performance, too.
02:27Efron's come a long way since then, but we're thrilled he's still got the moves.
02:31Number 8.
02:32His friendship with Joey King, various.
02:35In 2024, Efron starred as egotistical Hollywood actor Chris Cole in the Netflix rom-com A
02:40Family Affair.
02:41This embarks on a relationship with Brooke, the mother of his ex-personal assistant, Zara.
02:54Their on-screen chemistry is hilariously tense, but behind the scenes, they actually seem
02:59like great friends.
03:11Throughout the press trail, we were treated to insights of what their relationship is
03:14truly like, and it's equal measures sweet and funny.
03:17It's clear that they're huge admirers of each other and are happy to cheer each other on
03:21in interviews.
03:22At times, I have posters of you on my desk, like lots of merch with your face on it, pajamas,
03:27diaries, everything.
03:29It's true!
03:30Now I'm blushing.
03:31It looks like they have a lot of fun together.
03:33We hope they team up for another film in the future, maybe this time as besties.
03:37If you were in a car with Zach and Nicole Kidman, obviously, which song would you choose
03:41to sing to the two of them?
03:43Uh...
03:44Fast!
03:45Get On It, sung by the one and only Zachary Efron.
03:52Great choice.
03:53Number 7.
03:54Crosswalk the Musical on Broadway, The Late Late Show with James Corden
03:58During the press tour for The Greatest Showman, Efron, along with Hugh Jackman and Zendaya,
04:03joined James Corden for one of his classic Crosswalk musicals.
04:06While Efron's not the most vocal during rehearsals, the confusion on his face is priceless.
04:21You could just tell he was thinking, what on earth did I sign up for?
04:24But once they hit the streets of New York, Efron brought his all-singing, all-dancing
04:28talents to the performance, and it's fantastic.
04:39They lead the ensemble in numbers from On the Town, Guys and Dolls, and The Greatest
04:43Showman.
04:44The tricycle bit was just the icing on the cake, although nothing compared to his wig
04:48for the big fame finale.
05:00Number 6.
05:01A Young Mike O'Donnell, Seventeen Again
05:03It takes an actor with impeccable comedic flair to step into the shoes of the late great
05:08Matthew Perry.
05:09Turns out that Zac Efron was the perfect fit.
05:11In the movie, he plays a 17-year-old version of Perry's character, a former star athlete
05:16who peaked in high school.
05:28Efron did a great job capturing Perry's sarcastic wit and awkward charm.
05:32Plus, his comedic timing and natural charisma made him believable as a teenager struggling
05:36to navigate high school life with the wisdom – and baggage – of a middle-aged man.
05:55He even had Perry's approval, with the late actor voicing that if his life ever became
05:59a biopic, he'd cast Efron to play him.
06:15Number 5.
06:16Hosting SNL, Saturday Night Live
06:19Back in 2009, Efron made his debut as host on SNL and showed that he was up for anything,
06:24even poking fun at himself.
06:26He kicked off with a monologue thanking his tween fans for his rise to stardom.
06:38After that, he showed off his silly side in sketches like I Am Your Mother and Gilly Science
06:42Fair.
06:45However, we'd say the highlight of the evening was the parody of High School Musical 4, where
06:54Troy reveals that life after East High isn't a feel-good musical.
06:57In the real world, bursting into song won't start a choreographed dance.
07:01People just think you're strange.
07:07Thankfully, Troy Bolton will always have a place in the Disney family.
07:19Number 4.
07:20Playing Link Larkin – Hairspray
07:23When Adam Shankman brought Hairspray to the silver screen, he wasn't initially sold on
07:27casting Efron as teen heartthrob Link Larkin.
07:39He felt Efron's audition leaned too much on his Troy Bolton persona, but his sister and
07:44co-producer convinced him otherwise.
07:47And she was right.
07:48Efron delivered the goods.
07:50He does an excellent job of playing the initially self-absorbed Link, who learns to open his
07:54heart and mind to change.
08:05Plus his musical talents never fail to get our hearts racing.
08:08Seriously, we, like Tracy, can hear the bells whenever Efron's on screen.
08:13If it were our call, he'd be our top choice for this movie's Link Larkin every single
08:17day.
08:30Number 3.
08:31Duetting with Taylor Swift – The Ellen DeGeneres Show
08:34Ellen was known for asking personal questions and getting her guests involved in quirky
08:38bits.
08:39But when Efron and Taylor Swift appeared together on her show, they flipped the script.
08:59They surprised the host with a funny, customized rendition of Foster the People's pumped-up
09:03kicks.
09:04They hilariously sing about all the weird things Ellen had put them through in past
09:07visits.
09:09Their performance is upbeat, light-hearted, and full of good humor.
09:22Efron and Swift showcase their musical and comedic harmony, and Ellen is clearly loving
09:27every minute of it.
09:28Seriously, why haven't these two teamed up for a song yet?
09:31They sound incredible together.
09:32Okay, we so need this to happen.
09:43Number 2.
09:44Rewrite the Stars – The Greatest Showman
09:46Efron couldn't have had an easier time holding our awe throughout this movie.
10:00Talk about being The Greatest Showman.
10:03However, there's just one scene that takes our breath away every time.
10:15In this stunning number, he joins Zendaya, who plays Anne Wheeler, in a mesmerizing performance
10:19combining soaring aerial acrobatics and evocative vocals.
10:23The duo's chemistry is off the charts, and they make every note and move feel incredibly
10:28real.
10:41You can tell that these two have some serious chemistry off-camera, and they have turned
10:44that up to the max here.
10:46It's easy to believe that they are truly in love.
10:49It really feels like their partnership was written in the stars.
11:02Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
11:06A dramatic-ish reading of Olivia Rodrigo's Bad Idea right, W Magazine.
11:11Now we're waiting to see Efron join Rodrigo on stage, playing Teddy Sanders, Neighbors.
11:18He even makes a loud, arrogant, and immature frat president seem somewhat charming.
11:40Snack tasting, Ladbible TV.
11:42Maybe they should have started with the mild British snack in this round.
11:55Taking on the role of Ted Bundy, extremely wicked, shockingly evil, and vile.
11:59It's almost criminal how good he is in this.
12:11A secret talent, The Graham Norton Show.
12:13We bet that could get him out of a few parking tickets.
12:24Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified

12:40Number 1.
12:41Bet on it!
12:42High School Musical 2 Ah, the moment that launched a thousand memes.
12:46By Disney Channel standards back then, this scene is peak teen angst.
13:01Although Scream from the third film is a close second.
13:04Yet Efron brings a natural charisma to Troy that makes him easy to root for, even when
13:08he's unsure of himself.
13:20As if we couldn't love it more, Efron revealed that he improvised the entire scene, and they
13:25shot it in roughly three hours.
13:37Can we retroactively give him an Emmy for that?
13:39He deserves it.
13:40Efron also mentioned that, despite the rushed schedule, there was a particular moment in
13:44the original movie where he felt they were onto something extraordinary.
13:48Too bad he didn't bet on it.
14:00What's your favorite Zac Efron moment?
