00:00Welcome to my full movie recap of Despicable Me 4. Undercover anti-villain league AVL agent Gru
00:12attends a class reunion at his former high school the C. Passebon, where he reunites with Maxim
00:19Lemont, a former classmate of his who has a feud with Gru for stealing his talent show act. During
00:27the ceremony, Maxim reveals he has enhanced himself with cockroach body parts and Gru has
00:35him arrested by the AVL. Helped by his girlfriend Valentina, Maxim escapes prison and reveals his
00:41new invention, a gun that transforms people into cockroach hybrids, which he plans to use
00:47specifically on Gru's infant son Gru Jr. Days later, Silas Ramsbottom visits the Gru household
00:55to inform them that Maxim has escaped and the AVL will have to relocate the Gru family to a safe
01:01house in another town under new identities. Meanwhile, the rest of the minions are taken in
01:07by the AVL, where Silas selects five of them to be augmented with superpowers under a new
01:13initiative called the Mega Minions, but the initiative is called off after the Mega Minions
01:19caused great damage in a nearby city. In their new well-off residential town, Gru and his family
01:25meet their new neighbors, the Prescots, and their teenager daughter, Poppy. Poppy recognizes Gru
01:32from his former career as a villain and threatens to blow his cover unless he helps her to pull a
01:38heist to steal the C's Passebon's honey badger mascot, Lenny. Gru and Poppy successfully steal
01:46Lenny from the school, unaware that Lenny's collar contains a tracker. The school's principal
01:54identifies Gru via security camera footage and contacts Maxim to inform him about Gru's whereabouts
02:00using Lenny's collar. The next day, while Gru and Lucy are away at tennis practice, Principal
02:08visits the safe house to interrogate the girls about Gru. Gru and Lucy rush back home after being
02:14alerted by Margo, and they fight abolitionists. Lucy also signals the AVL, who in turn call the Mega
02:23Minions out of retirement to stop Maxim. In the havoc, however, Gru Jr. leaves the house and is
02:28spotted by Maxim and Valentina, who proceed to kidnap him. With the help of Poppy, Gru meets up
02:36with Maxim at a nearby building, where he reveals he has transformed Gru Jr. into a human cockroach
02:41hybrid and fight him off. Gru's words to his son manage to break Gru's juniors free from his
02:50brainwashing and attacks Maxim instead. Maxim falls to the ground, where he is further squashed by the
02:56Mega Minions and other animals and insects who arrive in turn. Sometime later, Gru visits Maxim
03:04at prison to talk and settle their differences. The pair then puts on a performance of
03:09Everybody Wants to Rule the World at an AVL prison for the prisoners, which includes
03:15most of the former villains from previous films and prequels.
