00:00At the end of this electoral campaign, where everybody was confronted with their choices,
00:14the people finally has chosen and I can only recognize the efforts made by all those who
00:23finally arrived at tonight's results, and I can only hail those who accepted to run,
00:32those who accepted to step down, and all those who went door to door, face to face, to convince
00:44everyone and at the end obtain a result which was claimed to be impossible.
00:52It was a huge effort of civil responsibility, we can only admire this at a time when political
01:02life seems to be receding, we were able to push the threat away, tonight the National
01:11Rally is far from having the absolute majority that seemed to be within reach a couple of
01:19weeks ago, quite the opposite, it's a huge relief for a huge majority of people in the
01:27country, those who make up the new France and those who have always loved France with
01:34republican passion.
01:39Voters were concerned, but now they can be reassured, they have won, with their ballots
01:53a majority made a new choice for the country, the will of the people must be strictly respected
02:03and from now on no arrangement, no combination will be acceptable, indeed the lessons of
02:14this vote are quite clear, the defeat of the President and his coalition have been confirmed,
02:28the President must recognise this defeat and should not attempt to circumvent it in
02:36any way, the Prime Minister must step down, indeed he never received the trust of the
02:48National Assembly, he has just run this campaign that his camp has lost and this was a complete
02:59disavowal by the people, it is the President's duty to call on a new popular front to run
03:10the country.
03:18The new popular front is ready, it will abide by the mandate given by its candidates, it
03:30will be as good as its word, the new popular front will apply its programme, nothing but
03:37its programme, but all of its programme.
03:47This programme is a whole, none of the constituents can be separated from the expenditures or
03:57the measures that are to come into force.
04:05From this summer on, the new measures can be adopted by decree, abrogating retirement
04:14at age 64, blocking the prices, increasing minimum wage, convention, the convening of
04:28collective bargaining agreements, all this work is before us, we announced it last week
04:35and we will confirm this to the President of the Republic.
04:41We will not get into negotiations with his party to engage in combinations, especially
04:49having fought relentlessly for the past seven years, his policy of social mistreatment and
05:01his positions that the French people have disavowed, especially after the vote has
05:10made this so clear, especially after the new people's front, in spite of all the blows
05:17received on all sides, all the insults will stand up and keep and abide by the mandate
05:28given by the people.
05:31From now on, the ballot boxes have decided between two completely opposite projects that
05:40were running against one another, the new popular front is ready to run, it's the only
05:48consistent ideology with a clear programme, with clear figures, its components from the
05:58united left are up to historical circumstances and indeed it was able to thwart the trap
06:08set to the country and once again it was able to save the Republic and once again it
06:19can start the ecological and social endeavour which our people, our periods, our Europe
06:28need so badly.
06:31Comrades, men and women around the country, you were expecting this moment that turned
06:39around all expectations thanks to your commitment, thanks to your loyalty, abiding by the instructions
06:47given, you should remember the words of the poet in the summer sun over the Provence,
06:57over the mountains, something in the air now has this full transparency, this taste of
07:04happiness which come to my mouth, France, my country.
