Raylee Patterson from Wattle Tree House does a demonstration with the backpack bed, which is given to people experiencing homelessness in the Bathurst area.
Transcript
00:00So, Rayleigh, can you tell me what the backpack bed is and how it works?
00:05So, basically it's a waterproof wind shelter.
00:12It rolls up very compact so the guys can actually put it onto their backs.
00:18Yes, maybe not the biggest, but at least it would keep them warm and dry.
00:22It has a fly screen.
00:26It has a foam retarded mattress in it that also has a weather resistant thing as well.
00:36So it keeps them dry, keeps them warm.
00:39It also comes with a fire retarded blanket or sleeping bag.
00:45And then obviously we would give them something extra because of Bathurst's climate.
00:48How many of these would you hand out a week?
00:51Well, we haven't had any to hand out for the last two years.
00:55And we've just been restocked with 15 of them.
01:00So, hoping we don't need to use them, but yeah.
01:04Thank you.
