Celebrating Zephaniah: A tribute in Victoria Square

An exhibition honoring poet and activist Benjamin Zephaniah has opened in Birmingham. "Benjamin Zephaniah - The Brighter Flame" is on display in Victoria Square and Colmore Row until 31 July. Part of the "100 Days of Creativity" programme, it features over 20 artworks.

00:1820 artworks. Funded by the Colmore Business District and co-curated by Poga Caesar and
00:25Ruth Millington, the exhibition has full support from Zephaniah's family. It includes
00:30Caesar's black and white photos of Zephaniah and work from their project Hansworth 1995
00:37Revisited. The showcase also features stills from The Tiny Spark, combining Zephaniah's
00:43poetry with imagery inspired by the Hansworth riots. Located in Birmingham city centre,
00:48this tribute captures Zephaniah's essence as a poet, activist and family man. It commemorates
00:54him as a true son of Birmingham, ensuring his legacy lives on.
