Man charged in Brisbane over multiple child cruelty offences

A man has been charged with multiple child cruelty offences after allegedly leaving three young children alone in a car at a service station overnight, south of Brisbane.

00:03Well, we'll start with breaking news this morning.
00:05Queensland Police are seeking urgent public help to locate three children, but thankfully
00:11one with a good outcome.
00:13We are eternally grateful that those children have been located safely.
00:17A three-year-old girl and two boys aged five and six were found at this service station
00:22in Mount Warren Park after police say they had been left alone on a cold night to sleep
00:27in a car.
00:28So there is still an ongoing criminal investigation as to how those children ended up there by
00:33themselves this morning.
00:35Police raked the alarm after they were called to a disturbance at a Slacks Creek property
00:39in Logan around 10 o'clock last night.
00:42A 27-year-old man was taken into custody, but officers then turned their attention to
00:48the whereabouts of the children.
00:49This morning police did a great job in making inquiries because the issue of the location
00:55of the children was raised.
00:57And from that we were able to establish that we couldn't locate where the children were
01:02or his vehicle.
01:04An amber alert was issued in the early hours of this morning, but at around 7am the eldest
01:10boy wandered into the service station for help.
01:12The attendant called police.
01:15The 27-year-old man was charged with three counts of child cruelty.
01:19He'll face court on those charges tomorrow.
01:22Police are now urging anyone with information to come forward.
