Beryl slammed the southern US state of Texas as a Category 1 hurricane, killing at least four people and causing millions to lose power amid scorching summer heat.

00:30I'm seeing more of this kind of damaging weather than I've ever seen before.
00:44I mean, this is just the beginning of July.
00:48And for us to have a storm of this magnitude is very rare.
00:53Yeah, the night was pretty quiet.
00:55We lost power about 5.15.
00:56I slept fine.
00:58And then I woke up with the sunrise and then watched the storm.
01:04So I think the worst was after 5 o'clock this morning.
01:06And then I noticed the fences were down.
01:11So for a Category 1 storm, it's quite a bit of damage for a Category 1.
