00:30Well it's match five here in Birmingham, it's the Ease My Trip World Championship of Legends,
00:36it's the Australian champions up against South Africa champions.
00:40This is the Australian line-up skippered by Binger, Brett Lee, Aaron Finch, World Cup
00:46winning captain, Sean Marsh, Tim Payne, Ben Duncan, Ben Cutting, Callum Ferguson, Dan
00:52Christian, Ben Loughlin, Nathan Coutinhal and Peter Siddal, that is some line-up that
00:57is.
00:58Just a reminder that Jacques Callis won the toss and decided that South Africa will bowl
01:03first.
01:04And the South Africans, who have we got here, Neil McKenzie with Ashford Prince, we're talking
01:08about household names here, world champions in their own backyard, Dwayne Villas, JP Doomley,
01:16Justin Ontong is in there as well, Ryan McLaren, the all-rounder, Vernon Philander, Imran Tahir,
01:21the much-travelled Imran, Dale Steyn and Charles Langeveld, that's again a very good side-skipper
01:27skippered by Jacques Callis.
01:36JP Doomley, oh that's gentle, a bit of a loosener, Justin Ontong saves, I would have thought
01:45at least three, down on one knee, oh that's four, Sean Marsh just helps the ball along
01:55its way.
01:56Shot again, he's hit this really hard and that's beaten that fielder at it, deep mid-wicket
02:06Dale Steyn has been launched straight back over his head by Aaron Finch, he's my trip
02:17six.
02:19This was how Aaron Finch played in his lovely half century in the first game, he either
02:25stayed back and leg side and carted the ball through the offside, could be two here, could
02:34even be four, that's Neil McKenzie, seemed to give up the chase early there, short, guided
02:45through, there isn't a third, so that's four more to Aaron Finch, Australia off to a racing
02:51start.
02:52Pitched up, McKenzie tips it over the rope, it's four more, Charles Langeveld, smash for
03:06four, these boundaries are not big enough for Sean Marsh.
03:12Oh, helped on its way, over, extra cover for an ease my trip six, how good was that to
03:22watch.
03:23Excellent shot from Aaron Finch, keeps that left foot, the front leg outside the line
03:28of leg stump.
03:32Straight this time, terrific blow, it's another ease my trip six, you've got to be in the
03:39right area for Aaron Finch, he's making Dale Steyn pay here.
03:44Aaron Finch is playing superbly well, I'll tell you what, best when fresh he mentioned
03:48in game one and just stay fresh.
03:52Shot, down the pitch, a little shimmy from Aaron Finch, he absolutely blazes this four
04:03through extra.
04:04Likes to bowl later, likes to bowl after the power play but not, ease my trip six, big
04:12one.
04:13Now we're seeing Tahir who's gone up, doesn't normally do that in the power play, he's normally
04:18a little bit flatter and once he goes up over the eye line, Marsh thinks I'm having a bit
04:23of this.
04:24There we go, what a sound, that is magnificent.
04:33Ease my trip six, he's so far and we're not, we're still in the power play, there's a ball
04:38to go, they're 77 without loss.
04:45Dumini back into the attack, sliced, past Langefeld, run away for a boundary, they cannot
04:53stop conceding boundaries Wacar.
04:59Sliced, should be taken, is taken, Vernon Philander takes the wicket, Finch departs
05:07one before another half century and South Africa needed to make that breakthrough, they've
05:13got Australia one down.
05:14Eight of the over but I feel this was probably the best delivery, a little bit floated outside
05:20the off stump, Finchie had to fetch it and Finchie a very, very important wicket going
05:26down for 49 is 85 for one.
05:33Lovely timing, it is simply exquisite from Marsh.
05:42Googly picked by Dunk, it's a beautiful shot to get off the mark.
05:48That's again too full, boundary, boundaries are just raining.
05:54Brings the 100 up as well, into the gap, oh didn't get it, got himself into position
06:03to stop the Hushwell Prince, it's a good shot from Marsh.
06:09He's not happy to give anything away but Don Tong is not really volleying to the plan.
06:16So JP Dumini ran the wicket with his offspin, straight back over the bowler's head, that
06:22will be four.
06:28Plays that swivel so well, Sean Marsh, just goes down on one knee, helps the ball along
06:33its way.
06:34Oh and now then, that's out, that's been given out.
06:42That delivery just surprised Sean Marsh on that occasion, the angle drifting in and then
06:48just holding up, turning, fluff, really well bowled.
06:53That's a big wicket for the South Africa champions that they were looking to get out.
06:57Sean Marsh, well played for his 49, 128 for two.
07:04These boundaries are so small that anything short gets absolutely flailed and that is
07:11another four for Ben Dunk.
07:17That is six, big six over backwards square and he's my trip six which has sailed over
07:24the rope from Ben Dunk.
07:29Once again, sloped surface, yeah, just probably getting the outer half of the bat but still
07:37had enough power to get it over the ropes.
07:41Up and over, man underneath it is a spectator, that's all he can do is watch it go over his
07:47head, Dale Steyn at long off.
07:52We're at the googly, inside out, he's my trip six once again.
07:57Just as if the extension of the arms and could that be out or the fairer boy will have a
08:04look and I think he stepped on the rope so that could be another six as well.
08:08Yes, he was in control of it here and then just stepped back, he's not in control of
08:17this, that's out, Ben Dunk slam dunk, well done Imran Tahir.
08:23South Africa champions, the team owners are happy, the outside edge all gripping a shape,
08:29the googly working third time around, Ben Dunk played really well for his 47, 153 for
08:35three.
08:38Bouldin, it was full and straight from Ryan McClaren and that's all that was needed.
08:45After playing a game, South Africa champions understanding how to use those sort of conditions
08:52as well, just slightly probably kept low more than Callum Ferguson was expecting.
09:02Callum Ferguson departs for one, it's 155 for four.
09:07Oh, it's close, yes, it's close enough, umpire says you're gone.
09:13The short fine leg in the 30 yard circle went way across and hitting in line and what an
09:21over this is by Ryan McClaren, Dan Christian getting out for two, 156 for five.
09:27Oh, it's a gentle full toss, helped along its way, that will be four, you don't normally
09:35post a fine leg for the leg spinner, but that was a big invitation.
09:41Oh, the googly and that's gone for four, it was the inside half of the bat, Imran Tahir
09:49stares down at Ben cutting.
09:57The sweep and this will run away.
10:04Decent shot from Ben Cutting, slower ball from Charles Langerfeld, it's a good start
10:10to the over, doesn't matter whether you have four on the onside, you're still going to
10:18get it through, 200 up, it's the highest score so far in this tournament.
10:24Cutting has gone boundary, boundary, Langerfeld under pressure.
10:31Short on its way, past Imran Tahir who has brought up to that short fine leg, it will
10:40be a maximum and he's my trip, six to finish off another expensive over, 19 from it.
10:49Vernon Philander who's finishing off the over of Ryan McClaren.
10:53It's a wonderful shot from Ben Cutting and what an innings he's playing, 31 of 15 and
11:00that ball carried all the way and Vernon Philander must be thinking, why did you have to do that
11:04McClaren?
11:08Sliced away, Nashville Prince, now knee went in, I do not like seeing that, I think he's
11:17okay.
11:18Ben Cutting on strike with a striker of 200.
11:25What a way to finish, maximum to finish, it's another ease, my trip, six, we've seen 11
11:30of them in this innings, 25 boundaries and Australia have the biggest total of this tournament
11:37so far, 230 for five, what a performance.
11:43Remember it was South Africa and Jacques Callis who won the toss and they decided to put Australia
11:47into bat and it started well right at the top of the order.
11:51Finch, one short away, it's been another 50 for him, 49, 49 for Marsh as well, Dunk was
11:57excellent, 47 from 21 and then that partnership at 74 from 40 saw Australia get to 230 for
12:06five.
12:07A couple of wickets for Dumini, two for 33, a couple of wickets for McClaren but unfortunately
12:12he went off injured, two for 20, an expensive day for the bowlers but it's a good wicket
12:17and what that means is that the South Africa champions, remember who lost that opening
12:21game yesterday against England, they'll need 231 runs off 20 overs at just over 11.5 runs
12:28per over.
12:29Straight away, bingo, first up, gets the big wicket.
12:44A little bit of a way shape, Richard Levy, his eyes light up, he thinks I'm going to
12:49climb into it, no back lift from Levy and Brett Lee, cock a hoop, signature, celebration,
13:01impact in, impact out, shower time for Levy, not for one.
13:11And we'll get that boundary, Jacques Callis is using his feet, looking to negate any sort
13:16of out swing and that boundary will help Jacques Callis for sure.
13:24We'll take that boundary, Neil McKenzie opens his account with that boundary.
13:30Sweep each, four.
13:37Now catch it is the call, not out of the screws from Jacques Callis and that's a really good
13:42catch, Xavier Dougherty.
13:46Brett Lee's good form continues, saw him coming down, just that, altering the length, keeping
13:53the ball away from the hitting zone of Jacques Callis, Jacques Callis got the bottom edge
13:58off the back and he's looking to go big, he has to depart, no real timing on that occasion,
14:04really well bowled by Brett Lee, Jacques Callis goes for six, 17 for two.
14:09Oh my word, the swing here for Brett Lee, he's got it on a string here, Binger.
14:23That's four, dancing down the track as well, got the length.
14:30Up and over the offside, lovely, really good shot that from Neil McKenzie, showing all
14:35his cricketing knows there, went leg side for his first three boundaries on that side,
14:40inside out over extra.
14:45Beauty, it might be a six that, it might be an ease my trip, flat six on JP Dumeney.
14:52Straight out of the middle of the back, JP Dumeney, read the length really, really early
14:59on that occasion.
15:01Gone, Nathan Coulter-Nile into the attack, full straight, cleans up off stump, I don't
15:12think he wants the ball to Yorker.
15:14The ball that Yorker, the very first delivery in your span, not the easiest.
15:19JP Dumeney just played all over it, big gap between bat and pad.
15:25That was just probably looking to play that too fine, shot the piece of the bat away too
15:31early.
15:32JP Dumeney gets 12 and has to walk back.
15:37Lovely shot, oh Neil McKenzie, you made a career for that over 20 years, easy as you
15:44like.
15:46That'll go for four, he has threaded that through extra cover and he's timed it impeccably.
15:56Oh, look at those, there's only one left.
15:59Magnificent piece of bowling by Nathan Coulter-Nile.
16:04Full, straight, a little bit of an inside edge but you don't say that on the scorecard,
16:11just says bold.
16:12Thank you very much.
16:14And South Africa are in a heap of trouble, gone for nine, 53 for four.
16:20Ben Laughlin, up and over, extra and that is gone for four.
16:29That's a nick, that's gone.
16:32Anton with a swing and a very fine feather through to the keeper.
16:39Simple catch for Timpei.
16:44South Africa are in trouble, Anton gone for two, 63 for five.
16:54Top edge and nicely taken.
17:00That was a short ball, it was outside off stump, yes it was there to hit, Neil McKenzie can't
17:05believe it, he looks at the surface as if to say maybe it held in and Timpei does what
17:11every good keeper should do, call the fielders out of the way, I've got the gloves, I'll
17:17take the catch.
17:18Neil McKenzie got to go for 33, 72 for six.
17:26We'll talk about Xavier Doherty beating Villars in flight.
17:33It's a lovely bit of bowling from Xavier Doherty, lovely angle in from wide of the crease, Dan
17:39Villars trying to go big, trying to go big early.
17:43Seen it all before, the left arm spinner, Timpei does the rest.
17:47Villars gone for four, 75 for seven.
17:55That's one of those flat, ease my trip sixes.
18:00The victory is probably gone but as many runs as you can get for a net run rate.
18:06Keep themselves in with the chance, it's a lovely hit, you mentioned Nicolai was slightly
18:10surprised he came in so late down the order.
18:14That's probably cementing your statement, back to back ease my trip sixes from Ryan Mack.
18:22The football looks pretty good, there's no real signs of any serious damage to the left
18:28wing, got to the pitch of that ball really nicely and got the elevation and the power
18:34that he was looking for.
18:40Clean ball on that occasion, Xavier Doherty.
18:46This is one of your specialties, the straight break.
18:50No!
18:51Straight through the gate, Werner Verlander, short stay at the crease, two from seven,
18:5793 for eight.
19:04And six.
19:12Well that's it for him, run tired.
19:14Tried to do last time around when he got up but this time around finding the middle of
19:18the bat, great strike for that ease my trip six.
19:28Looking to find some replacement, that's another ease my trip six, this time around another
19:33big hit by McLaren.
19:40McLaren played quite nicely in the previous match also and he's finding he's the only
19:45batsman who found a middle of the bat on a few occasions.
19:52This might go all the way, he's gone all the way, ease my trip six.
19:5874 of those sixes this tournament so far, ease my trip sixes, he doesn't get all of
20:04it but he gets enough of it.
20:15Taken.
20:17Oh Payne didn't know where it had gone and that's why there's a bit of a laugh from the
20:21captain, Australian captain.
20:23I think Imran Tahir thought that he might get away with this because not only he was
20:29not sure, he hit him on the shoulder, might have hit the helmet also a little bit on the
20:33way but Tim Payne was going all round in circles and then just saw at the last second had enough
20:39time to get under it, bring in a bit of dive also and getting rid of Imran Tahir, that's
20:45ninth wicket gone for 114.
20:50Shot.
20:53Lovely shot.
20:55Another ease my trip six, good from Langerfelt.
21:02You never know, Pakistan, India they might bring few more players overnight, you know
21:07just to get a younger player in for tomorrow's game but that's game for Australia winning
21:14by 104 and that's a big margin, the run rate is going to go over the moon so South Africa
21:21really got to fix their issues, they're not really playing good cricket at this stage
21:25so it's a massive victory for Australian champions.
21:30So they were set 231 to win, South Africa got off to a poor start, Levy went first ball
21:36another chop on like yesterday, Callis went cheap as well so did Dumini, the pick really
21:41was McKenzie and McLaren and they got to 126 for nine off the end of their 20 overs.
21:49Australia once again superb with the ball in hand, three wickets for Colton Nile, he
21:53batted quite nicely and then of course three overs, only seven, 14 dot delivered with a
22:00beautiful in swing to a couple of those left handers, three for him, three for Doty, Bradley
22:06was superb up front picking up two.
22:10So the summary of match five of ease my trip, World Championship of Legends, so Australia
22:16who were put into bat by Jack Callis a little bit earlier on, 230 for five, Finch with 49
22:22from 25, Marsh with 49 from 28 and Dunk with 47 from 21, expensive the ball as McLaren
22:29was the pick until he had to go off with that injury, two for 20 and South Africa in reply
22:34lost wickets regularly, 126 for nine, meant that Australia won by 104 runs.
