00:00Hi!
00:01Hi, Brooke!
00:02Hi, Zach!
00:03Hi, Jenna!
00:04I have a feeling you just came from nutrition.
00:05What gave you that away?
00:06Uh, not the bucket of food, obviously.
00:07Of course not.
00:08Well, welcome to Kangaroo Crossing.
00:09Have you ever met a red kangaroo before?
00:10No, I haven't.
00:11Awesome.
00:12Well, we're going to change that today.
00:13Kangaroo Crossing is an awesome experience.
00:14It gives our guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with Australian wildlife
00:15that they might otherwise never have the chance to do.
00:16Wow.
00:17So, we're going to introduce you to some of our kangaroos.
00:18So, let's go.
00:19So, we're going to introduce you to some of our kangaroos.
00:20So, let's go.
00:21So, we're going to introduce you to some of our kangaroos.
00:22When I woke up this morning I didn't think I was going to see my first kangaroo.
00:49All right, so today you are meeting the world's largest marsupial.
00:54Wow.
00:55Yeah.
00:56The red kangaroos, thankfully, are not an endangered species in Australia.
01:00There's about 11 million of them, and we have our own little group right here at San Antonio
01:05Zoo.
01:06Oh, yeah.
01:07Do you all want some of this?
01:08This is what you're coming for.
01:09I think this is the softest animal I've ever touched.
01:18This is why the kangaroos are the most viral animals at the zoo.
01:30The most engaging to watch, for sure.
01:38You know what a group of kangaroos is called?
01:40No.
01:41I'll give you a hint.
01:44A punch.
01:45Close.
01:46It's called a mob.
01:48So, the most amazing thing about these encounters that we offer at San Antonio Zoo is it really
01:54gives guests the chance to learn about wildlife that they might not have ever really thought
01:58about before and recognize that we're not alone on this planet.
02:01We share it with a lot of beautiful animals, and the whole goal of San Antonio Zoo is to
02:06encourage our communities and our guests to be inspired to secure a future for wildlife.
02:12That's what we do every day here with our kangaroos, and that's what you're doing here
02:16today in addition to giving them a really yummy breakfast.
02:19Yep.
02:20What I've learned while I'm at the San Antonio Zoo is that it's all about education, not
02:28just display.
