Adobe Dimension Course Section 18 Working with Inbuilt Textures

Adobe Dimension is a 3D Mockup tool which is a part of Adobe Creative Cloud. In this course, you will learn how to work in a 3d environment, import 3d models, add in textures, render and export final outputs.

In this video lesson, we will learn about Working with Inbuilt Textures in Adobe Dimension.

00:00So you may want to go around and add in textures as you like in different objects, something
00:11like logos or maybe textures as you like.
00:14In that case, I can go around and let's say, for example, bring in this particular box
00:19right here, just like this, and it's loading right here.
00:22And right now this does not have any texture, but let's say on the top, you want to add
00:26in your texture.
00:28In that case, I'm going to go around onto the image section right here.
00:31And here are some custom textures as you can see right here.
00:35If I were to go around and then click and drag out this texture right here, you can
00:39see that I can go around and drag and drop them off right here, just like this.
00:44And it loads.
00:45And you can see that immediately it simply goes around and then stays as a texture right
00:50here, just like this.
00:52I can go around over here, go around onto the size and resize it out right here, just
00:56like this.
00:57Or I can click and drag it out right here.
01:00So this is what you have, as you can see, and this is an image format, as you can see
01:04right here.
01:05I can go around and scale it out right here, just like this.
01:08I can go around and scale it.
01:09I can go around and change around the roughness of this particular object right here and change
01:15it into a more metallic look as you like as well.
01:18Apart from that, you can go around and fill it out right here, just like this, to the
01:22entire object right here and repeat it out or mirror it out as well and change around
01:29the repetition patterns, just like this as well.
01:31And this is the object.
01:33So now what you see right here is a separate object right here.
01:37So now you can see that this is the bottom lid, this sleeve right here.
01:41So I can disable it and you can see that this is a particular object and that is why you
01:45have it out right here.
01:47So now on the bottom hand side as well, let's say I'm going to go around and add in another
01:52pattern right here.
01:53So I'm just going to go around and add in this pattern right here, just like this.
01:58So as I go ahead and do this, this is what I have.
02:02And now I'm going to fill it out as well and change around the repetition right here, just
02:06like this as well right here, make it a bit more metallic right here and then decrease
02:11out the roughness.
02:12And this is what you have, as you can see.
02:14So now on the top, let's say I'm going to go around and add in stripes right here.
02:18And for the stripes, I'm going to fill it out as well, just like this, change around
02:22the opacity right here, just like this over here and change around the, not change around
02:28the roughness, but change around the metallicness right here and change around the repeat as
02:32well.
02:33So this is what you have.
02:34And now on the top, I'm going to go around and add in this particular logo right here.
02:39So now I can go around and place it out however I like right here.
02:44So I can go around and then this is what you have right here.
02:47I can go around and rotate it out, just like this.
02:50And let's just go around and make it more metallic right here, just like this as well,
02:55so that it's more shiny right here, just like this.
02:58And immediately you can see that I got these particular textures right here, just like
03:03this.
03:04So if I were to go around on to render preview right here, then you can see that this is
03:09the result that you have right here.
03:11So that is how you can go around and then work around with textures inside of Adobe
03:16Dimension.
03:17That is the pre set up textures that you have right here and then add it in your design
03:23to get the final output easily.
03:26So hope you found this video useful.
