We take a look at a bar that is riverside in Shrewsbury, Venue 7 , formerly Made in Thai. It's one of only a few that are riverside and is now open for business. Its a great spacious bar with a huge sports tv screen, and ready to serve you a nice cold drink or take booking for your next event or party. We chat to the team behind it.

00:00How you doing guys, you ok? Yeah fine thank you. Venue 7, formerly made in Thai, a lot
00:07of people know where that is and I guess the river is the clue isn't it really. And Tony
00:12it's a bar now, Venue 7, fill us in. Yeah well it was kind of a thought many years ago
00:17when we started the River Thai but we decided to run with the River Thai and do Thai food.
00:248-9 years later we decided to run it into a bar. Evolve and adapt, that's the nature
00:33of the business isn't it. Got to be a contender for the best spot in the town isn't it really
00:39for a drink. I think it's one of the best spots, especially to my right here now, you've
00:43got the sunset in the summer which is a great thing so you can get the sun from the afternoon
00:49right through to late evening. It's a big old terrace isn't it, you can seat quite a
00:55few people here. It's a huge terrace yeah, we can probably get, if we have a venue we've
01:00had about 350-400 people in here on occasion. Hence the Venue 7 so we really want to try
01:08to specialise in more venues, weddings, special parties, birthdays, anniversaries. So will
01:18you be doing food still, is it just a traditional pub format now or what's the deal? When we're
01:23doing venues, if they specifically want food and it's a wedding we can cater for that,
01:27so we've already got some bookings anyway. So we do the buffet, barbecue, we'll tailor
01:34the requirements to the customer. So we can do just about any kind of food which is a
01:40big plus. And you're open for the footy, what about your regular opening hours, summer season?
01:46We've changed the times a little bit for the morning, in the summer time only, so we
01:49can open for 10, we can do a bit of morning breakfast and go into lunch, which is really
01:55nice on a sunny day. And then close up round about 6 o'clock, we've got a fresh coffee
02:01machine so we do fresh coffees, cakes, sponges, but that'll all finish around about 6 o'clock
02:08anyway. Nice big screen in there for the football or something? Lovely big screen, so we've
02:12got the Olympics coming up so that'll be great if anyone wants to come in. We've got
02:17a few TVs in here as well. And this is your partner on, do you get to enjoy this Terry
02:24so you're too busy working? Yeah we get to enjoy it, thank you. It's good, you need to
02:30work harder Tony! But no, it's a little beautiful spot, I mean a lot of people perhaps who aren't
02:37mega familiar with the town, they perhaps wouldn't realise from the roadside, you've
02:40got all this here at the back, would you? Yeah, it is really a little bit deceptive,
02:44over the years we've had those comments because I think where the building is so close to
02:48the road, it's really difficult to do anything for the planning also for the road, so it's
02:55a little bit of a tardy as you don't really realise what it is until you come in. So word
03:00on the street, get yourself down to venue 7. Yeah we thought the, obviously one of the
03:05venues and 7 is the river, so it kind of went together, it rolls off the tongue fairly nicely,
03:12so hopefully that will springboard into a household name. Well good luck in this new
03:19venture for this fantastic building and plot you've got here, all the best guys. Thank
03:23you very much. Thank you.
