00:00Well, Carver High, last night we had some action going in some of these summer league
00:11games and the one that stood out to me, as you know, was like taking China to cover the
00:18big piece.
00:20And they did.
00:2124 tutties, 28 and a half they were getting from the Spurs in that game.
00:28In Cali, 89-69 the final, 22, in fact, that game was single digits in the third quarter.
00:34The Spurs ended up pulling away in the fourth, but not pulling away enough to cover the 28
00:40and a hook.
00:41So the Spurs win there at the California Classic, which we'll finish off tonight.
00:47The Grizzlies beat the Sixers by two.
00:50Edie didn't play last night, Scotty, because they didn't want to obviously play three nights
00:54in a row because they're playing again tonight in Utah.
00:57So they gave him last night off, he'll be back in there tonight for Memphis.
01:02So we did.
01:03And what was the other one you covered last night?
01:04Who else played last night out there?
01:07The Utah game, right?
01:08Utah played OKC?
01:09Yeah, they had OKC and they rolled them.
01:13OKC rolled them last night in Utah.
01:16Nice job there as well.
01:18Here's what we have tonight.
01:20These are the last games in Utah and California.
01:22Of course, on Friday, everybody arrives in Vegas for Vegas Summer League, where there'll
01:28be just loads of games every single day for like a week straight.
01:33Grizzlies and Thunder tonight in Utah and the Sixers and the Jazz.
01:37Seven and a half for Memphis, eight and a half for Utah.
01:43I think both of those spreads are too juicy for me.
01:46I'll take the Thunder and the Sixers with the numbers.
01:51Seven and a half for Thunder, eight and a half for Philly.
01:54I mean, they lost by two last night.
01:56The Thunder, they blew out the Jazz last night.
02:02And I don't think the Grizzlies are that good.
02:04I mean, you know, I think Zach Eady had a great game the other night, but they still
02:07lost.
02:08They lost to the Jazz and I don't think the Jazz are all that in the Summer League.
02:14This is, you know, Summer League ball.
02:16This is not the NBA.
02:18This is like the future, at best, NBA, right?
02:25Like some of these guys have a wing and a prayer of getting into the NBA.
02:30This is their moment to shine.
02:32But at the end of the day, I got to be honest with you.
02:35I think the games pretty much suck.
02:37They are sloppy.
02:38They're ugly.
02:40There's a lot of bad shots and really bad basketball.
02:44When you think about it, they've never played together before.
02:46Fair enough.
02:48But it is sloppy.
02:49You can't argue it.
02:50If you watch it, it's not that scintillating.
02:5390% of the guys in these games are not sniffing the NBA, the real NBA.
03:01It is not.
03:02This is a lot of developmental.
03:03This is a lot of rookies.
03:05This is a lot of guys who've been hanging around, playing in other leagues for years.
03:10So, you know, these G League guys, it's just not the highest quality of basketball.
03:16You also have the end of the California Classic tonight, which is, this end of it is going
03:21to be at Golden State here.
03:23And you will get, allegedly, Brawny back in action tonight for the Lakers.
03:28We have not heard yet that he's not going to play.
03:31As of now, they say he is.
03:33And the Heat are five and a half point favorites.
03:34Of course, Ware's been very good for them in these couple of summer league games.
03:38Kings and Warriors in the other one.
03:40Warriors minus eight and a half.
03:41I mean, didn't I have the Kings in a game last night as well, and they covered?
03:46Yeah, Kings have a split squad.
03:48They have split squad.
03:50I'll still take the eight and a half with the Kings in that game at the Golden one.
03:57And then I'll take the Heat and lay the five and a half over the Lakers.
04:04That's not that hard to me.
04:05Five and a half, I can live with.
04:08Five and a half over Brawny.
04:10Hopefully, Brawny more than four points tonight?
04:12What do you think?
04:13More than four points?
04:15Remember, they said that Brawny can guard all five positions.
04:19I want to see that little 6'1 B, capital B, guard Kalel Ware of Indiana, seven foot one.
04:28I want to see a guy a foot taller than him.
04:31I want to see him stop that big seven foot behemoth when he's throwing down tomahawks
04:37in his face into the rack.
04:40That kid can't stop that.
04:41He couldn't stop him if he was asleep.
04:44He couldn't snuff him out if he was asleep with a pillow.
04:47Trust me, this is no joke.
04:50I've always told you, don't get me started on putting some little six foot guy against
04:55a seven footer.
04:56I don't care who it is.
04:58I mean, I can put up half of those guys that played at Indiana.
05:02What's his name?
05:03Zeller.
05:04Cody Zeller.
05:05He's another seven foot hack in the NBA.
05:06He's terrible.
05:07But when he was in college, he was unstoppable at Indiana, right?
05:12So you put that guy, a seven footer, against any guy six foot in the NBA, I don't care
05:18who it is, and they will not be able to stop Cody Zeller.
05:22And he's awful.
05:23He's what they would deem awful.
05:25There's no, can you imagine some six foot guys trying to stop Zubats?
05:30What that big fat seven footer would do to some six foot guy?
05:33I mean, honestly, let's stop being nice around here.
05:36Like, I am all about bigs and violence.
05:40Let's go.
05:41The bigger, the better.
05:44Friday in Vegas, there are seven games to start things off.
05:47In fact, there'll be a couple on during Coast to Coast.
05:51We actually will have a couple of games on too.
05:54It's better than the Euros.
05:56Pelicans and the Timberwolves will both be on during Coast to Coast.
06:00You have that to look forward to at the end of the week.
06:03John Moran cleared for basketball activities after all the rehab for his shoulder.
06:08I got four.
06:09Yes.
06:10I got four of them.
06:11I have been wearing the new jaws playing basketball.
06:16And I have to say, well, first of all, they are the best looking shoe I've ever seen on
06:23the market.
06:24And I buy basketball shoes like nobody's business.
06:28And I'm telling you, they're the coolest shoes I've ever worn.
06:32And I love them.
06:33I thought the Lucas were nice.
06:35They've already made the trunk of my car.
06:37The Lucas have been thrown in the trunk.
06:39Carver knows the rules.
06:40Once the shoe goes in the trunk, they become park shoes.
06:44They're no longer used indoors.
06:47Anything in the car is used for outside purposes.
06:50So Lucas have been retired already.
06:52And I'm on to the jaws.
06:54And the only other shoe I got left are the new KDs from like 23, the black and gold ones.
07:01They're bad ass.
07:02I'm going to break those out next.
07:04But I'm wearing the jaws.
07:06I didn't clearly from now until I'm guessing possibly Christmas.
07:13Possibly Christmas.
07:14That's nice.
07:15Good job by you getting the jaws a little bit of work inside on the courts.
07:18Here's Klay Thompson.
07:19I told you yesterday he was introduced down in Dallas now as a member of the Mavericks.
07:25Very hard for him, Scotty, to say goodbye to Golden State.
07:28I mean, whether you play basketball or work in the corporate world or wherever, whatever
07:37industry sometimes change just can spur greatness and a new change of scenery can do wonders.
07:44And I'm very grateful for my time at Golden State.
07:49But I just felt like, you know, moving on could just re-energize me and do something
07:57special for the rest of my career.
07:59And Dallas was so attractive because of the young players they have, the style of play,
08:04the, you know, world class treatment these players get from this organization and just
08:12a beautiful city who loves their hoops.
08:14Listen, I'm not going to argue with him, but the reality is he got four rings out of the
08:22dubs and he contributed to all of them.
08:26And at the end of the day, they didn't want him anymore.
08:29They weren't paying him for his broken down knee and Achilles and game, which was never
08:36the same after the fact.
08:38And they didn't want him.
08:39The hardest part of a divorce is, you know, it goes both ways.
08:44It's never easy for anybody in anything.
08:48Marriages, teams, jobs.
08:51It's always they always end the same way with a thud.
08:55OK.
08:56Like, you know, you see these marriages and OK, and then, you know, the kids are affected.
09:01Why?
09:02And she gets a mansion.
09:04The guy's living in an apartment somewhere and then teams like that guy.
09:09It's written all over his face that he's miserable, that they did him.
09:13It's written all over his face.
09:15He's talking about a resurgence and a renaissance in Dallas of his career.
09:19Yeah, whatever.
09:20They got rid of him.
