George Clooney is loudly calling for President Joe Biden to step aside. On Wednesday, The New York Times op-ed section published an essay from the actor and director where he forcefully argues for President Biden to end his campaign for reelection and allow a new candidate to take on Donald Trump in November.

00:38But he went on to bluntly share that the Biden he spent time with at a recent fundraiser
00:42is not the same man who won in 2020,
00:44and instead the man America witnessed during the June 27th debate.
00:48Clooney wrote of Biden's recent debate performance,
00:56that 51 million people didn't see what we just saw.
00:59We're also terrified by the prospect of a second Trump term that we've opted to ignore every warning sign.

01:19The Oscar winner, who is one of Hollywood's more engaged political players, went on to say,
01:26This is about age, nothing more, but also nothing that can be reversed.
01:30We are not going to win in November with this president.
01:33Clooney then floated the idea of several prominent Democrats,
01:36including Wes Moore, Kamala Harris, and Gavin Newsom,
01:39stepping up to lead the ticket in November.
