This $52,000 BMW X2 Takes 'Entry-Level' To New Heights
Here’s the thing about entry-level luxury cars: they are usually just that, entry level, without goodies like a powerful engine, sport tuning, hands free driving or augmented reality navigation that its higher-priced siblings are known for. That, however, is not the case with the full redesigned 2024 BMW X2, the smallest SUV (or SAV, for sports activity vehicle, in BMW speak) the brand builds.
In this case the BMW X2 might be considered as the brand’s investment in your future BMW ownership: it delivers a taste of all that BMW promises, both luxury and performance, in an affordable, sporty and modern SUV.
The 2024 BMW X2, a luxury compact Sports Activity Coupe (SAC), represents the second generation of this model, offering a blend of sporty aesthetics and SUV functionality. The pricing for the X2 xDrive28i starts at $42,000, while the high-performance X2 M35i xDrive is priced from $51,400.
The xDrive28i is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 241 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, a noticeable increase from the outgoing model. Which makes it good for a 0-60 time of 6.2 seconds. On the other hand, the M35i xDrive ups the ante with 312 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm, giving it a 0-60 time of just 5.2 seconds.
