Jelena Ostapenko pouvait être ambitieuse à Wimbledon mais son aventure a pris fin mercredi. En quarts, la Lettone n'a rien pu faire contre Barbora Krejcikova, 6-4, 7-6(4). Avec son jeu à risques, Ostapenko a commis 35 doubles fautes et a logiquement été gênée par le jeu de variations de son adversaire. Toutefois, la gagnante de Roland-Garros 2017 peut tout de même être satisfaite de son parcours. C'est d'ailleurs ce sentiment qui a été dominant en conférence de presse mercredi soir.

00:46And I mean, everyone wants to win here, especially when you're in quarterfinals.
00:51So everyone is really like fighting and yeah.
00:57You were able to really like plow your way through some of your previous opponents
01:02and Barbora doesn't really let people do that.
01:04What made her so different from your previous opponents
01:08and so difficult for you to really play your best game?
01:12What does she do that's so challenging?
01:14I mean, she played pretty good today,
01:17but I think it's more like about me,
01:19what I was maybe not going for the shots as much as I had to.
01:22And it was also like a bit windy and court one is a bit honestly,
01:27is a bit slower than the outside courts.
01:29So maybe it was in her favor as well.
01:34You had Lil Wayne posting you on his Instagram feed and everything
01:37and there's been some invitations for the US Open,
01:39but has he messaged you privately at all?
01:41And what do you make of this new friendship?
01:44Yeah, I mean, it's really cool, of course.
01:46But I feel like every interview now I've been asked this,
01:50I think, I mean, as I said, it's really cool.
01:54But yeah, he has been messaging me as well.

02:05It's a big run for the first time in a few years, quarterfinals.
02:08So what would you say in terms of your level and all you take
02:11when you go into the next few tournaments?
02:13I feel like I'm on the right path.
02:16And just day by day, I'm getting better.
02:18And not every day you will feel great
02:21and you will feel like all of your shots.
02:23You just have to try and find your game when you're not feeling good.
02:29And I think that I can only take positive things from here
02:33and just move on.
02:35And there are still a lot of tournaments this year
02:38and another Grand Slam and Olympics.
02:40So, yeah, just work hard and the result will be there.
