Surah Al-Kahf. Illuminating Blessings and Protection
as it is a well-known tradition that the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) exhorted Muslims to recite Surah Kahf every Friday. This sacred Surah not only offers protective blessings but also contains four consecutive stories, directly communicated by Allah the Almighty to the Prophet (PBUH). These narratives render Surah Kahf one of the most cherished and spiritually significant chapters in the Quran, imbued with invaluable guidance and lessons for believers.

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا
Say, “I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord – let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone.” Surah Kahf (The Cave) – Verse 110
The profound benefits of Surah Al-Kahf are echoed in numerous Hadiths. It is narrated that those who recite the first ten verses (or, according to some Hadiths, the last ten) of this Surah will be graced with a divine light that shines from one Friday to the next.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) conveyed, ‘Whoever recites Surah Kahf will be gifted, on the Day of Resurrection, with a radiant light that extends all the way from their place to Makkah. And those who recite the last ten verses of this Surah will be safeguarded from the trials of the Antichrist.’ (Hadith reported by At-Tabarani and authenticated by Al-Albani)
Furthermore, the Prophet emphasized, ‘Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on a Friday, Allah will cast a luminous glow between that Friday and the next.’ (Hadith narrated by An-Nassai, Al-Hakem, and Al-Bayhaqi, according to Abu Said al-Khudari, may Allah be pleased with them, and authenticated by Al-Albani)
For added spiritual protection, Muslims recite this Surah as a shield against the Dajjal, the Antichrist prophesied to appear at the end of time. The recitation of Surah Al-Kahf not only bestows divine light but also serves as a means of seeking refuge from the impending trials and tribulations.

00:00And We send down from the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy for the believers.
00:20In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:26All praise is due to Allah, Who has sent down to His servant the Book, and has not made for it any crookedness,
00:38Established that He may warn of a severe punishment from Himself and give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward,
01:00Abiding therein forever. And He warns those who say,
01:07They say, Allah has taken a son. They have no knowledge of it, nor do their fathers. A word has grown large that comes out of their mouths. They say nothing but a lie.
01:29And perhaps you will cause yourself to weep over their footsteps if they do not believe in this hadith, alas.
01:41Indeed, We have made what is on the earth an adornment for it, that We may test them, which of them is best in deed. And indeed, We will make what is on it a steep ascent.
02:01Or do you think that the companions of the cave and the rock were of Our signs in wonder?
02:12When the young men turned to the cave and said, Our Lord, give us from Yourself mercy, and make easy for us our affair in a right way.
02:27So We struck upon their ears in the cave for a number of years. Then We resurrected them that We might know which of the two parties was best in that which they stayed for a long time.
02:47We relate to you their story in truth. Indeed, they were young men who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.
03:00And We struck upon their hearts when they stood up and said, Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will not call upon other than Him a deity. Indeed, We will say, when it is clear.
03:27These are a people who have taken besides Him deities. Why do they not come to them with a clear solution? So who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah?
03:51And when you have withdrawn from them and they worship none but Allah, then go to the cave. Your Lord will spread for you from His mercy and make easy for you your affair in a right way.
04:19And you will see the sun, when it rises, moving from their cave to the right, and when it sets, it sets them to the left, and they are in a state of fear.
04:36That is from the signs of Allah. Whomsoever Allah guides, he is the guided one. And whosoever He leaves astray, you will not find for him a rightful guardian.
04:54And you will think of them as sleepers while they are sleepers. And We will turn them to the right and to the left. And their dog, he will stretch out his arm in the middle.
05:13If you had looked at them, you would have turned away from them, fleeing, and you would have been filled with terror from them.
05:44They said, Your Lord knows best what you have spent, so send one of you with this paper to the city, and let him see which is the purest food,
06:08and let him come to you with provision from it, and let him receive kindness, and let him not make known to you anyone.
06:24Indeed, if they appear before you, they will stone you or return you to their religion.
06:35And you will not succeed, then, ever.
06:43And thus did We make it easy for them that they might know that the promise of Allah is true and that the Hour, there is no doubt about it.
07:00When they disputed among themselves about their affair, they said, Build for them a building.
07:09Their Lord is most knowing of them. Those who were victorious over their affair said, We will surely take upon them a masjid.
07:29They will say, Three, the fourth of them is their dog, and they will say, Five, the sixth of them is their dog, a blow in the unseen.
07:43And they will say, Seven, the eighth of them is their dog. Say, My Lord knows best their number. He knows them not except a little.
07:59So do not dispute among them except in plain sight, and do not inquire among them about anyone.
08:13And do not say of anything, Indeed, I will do that tomorrow, except that Allah wills.
08:31And remember your Lord when you forget, and say, It may be that my Lord will guide me to a nearer way than this.
08:43And they stayed in their cave three hundred years, and increased nine. Say, Allah is most knowing of what they stayed.
08:56To Him is the unseen of the heavens and the earth. See with it and hear. They have no protector other than Him, and no partner in His judgment.
09:15And recite what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord. There is no substitute for His words, and you will not find other than Him a refuge.
09:35And be patient in your soul with those who invoke their Lord morning and evening, desiring His Face. And let not your eyes deviate from them, desiring the adornment of the life of this world.
09:55And do not obey one whom We have made heedless of his heart from Our remembrance, and has followed his desire, and his affair has been divided.
10:10Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills, let him believe, and whoever wills, let him disbelieve. Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a Fire which will envelop them in darkness.
10:34And if they seek to escape, they will be drowned in water like oil, scorching their faces. Evil is the scorching, and evil is the high place.
10:53Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds, indeed, We do not waste the reward of one who does a good deed.
11:23And they will be wearing green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on couches. Excellent is the reward, and good is the reward.
11:50And set forth for them an example of two men. We made for one of them two gardens of grapes, and We surrounded them with date palms, and We made between them a field.
12:13Each of the two gardens gave its fruit, and it did not wrong at all, and We made a river flow through them.
