00:00Okay, so this is a pub that's synonymous with Iain Rankin and with Detective Rebus.
00:24How did all that link come about?
00:27I believe it was when Iain was a student and his flatmate and good friend, Andrew John, that he got called in here.
00:35He got a part-time job in here, so Iain started drinking in here when he was a young man.
00:41Yep, and I'm sure that you've got a healthy band of regulars here, but you also get a lot of visitors who have read the books and watched the series.
00:49We get visitors from all around the world. He's obviously well-known for all his seasons as well.
00:55Sometimes there are a lot of Americans and Canadians and Australians.
00:59I've heard people as far as Columbia coming in from randomly, so yeah, it brings in everyone.
01:06Amazing, and if somebody's maybe visiting Edinburgh for the first time or they've just seen Rebus on TV recently, why should they come here?
01:14The reason you should come here is because you can't actually see the bar inside the bar and you don't get the experience of coming in.
01:20Although the filming was outside, the filming inside didn't actually occur here, so it's the only way you get to see the inside of this bar.
