00:11I came to the UK almost 25 years ago now and having grown up on kefir and other natural
00:20gut health products, I really missed it and I saw the opportunity and I felt it was very
00:26scalable because where I grew up a glass of kefir a day is a must at every nursery and
00:32kindergarten and it's a main recovery food in the hospitals because it's so nutritious
00:38and it is so easy to digest and it's actually a very popular slimming and detoxing food
00:48because it fills you up with all of the good stuff and properly supports your well-being
00:54and overall vitality.
00:59Kefir is all about natural gut health and in our case deliciously natural gut health.
01:08Essentially it's a dairy product which is a combination of the milk and the live cultures
01:14which is an authentic 2000 year old recipe whereby the milk is fermented and that makes
01:23it into a very light, easy to digest and very nutritionally balanced, packed with
01:30billions of live cultures.
01:33Delicious food which is very versatile, you can drink it, you can have it with your breakfast
01:39cereal, you can put it into the muesli or smoothies etc and it is kind of upgrading
01:49your milk is probably the easiest, simplest way of describing it.
01:57It's always difficult to get started especially if you don't have big budgets to go with it
02:04but it's been a very exciting journey.
02:07I think what has helped us more than anything else is being true to delivering the best
02:14possible natural quality of the product that combine gut health benefits and really beautiful
02:23taste, clean and natural taste.
02:26And through that and being able to look the consumer in the eye and say this is the best
02:33dairy and natural gut health can deliver for you made it possible for us without the big
02:39budgets to grow steadily and over the last 12 years we have indeed built a new category
02:47entirely here in the UK from practically non-existent to now pushing 100 million retail sales value.
02:59As far as I'm concerned we're only just starting, there are so many opportunities in bringing
03:06deliciously natural gut health to the UK consumers and beyond.
03:13There are many more opportunities in the chilled dairy space, we're developing our range, further
03:19developing our range of kefir protein and kefir for kids is a very important strategic
03:26area for us and of course we're always innovating the flavours and the formats of our drinks
03:33and our yoghurts but of course what we started from this January is ambient gut health meal
03:44boosters distributing it through our direct to consumer channel and we would love to explore
03:51further opportunities in the ambient gut health space because it makes gut health that much
03:59more accessible for everybody every day which is our mission.
