00:00Each one of them has a story.
00:05There's not a single animal here that doesn't have a story.
00:09They know you're doing your best.
00:11It's okay, I'm going to get your partner.
00:21I was left, usually with the dogs who couldn't find a home.
00:25If you turn the corner, there's a small dog inside.
00:36What breed is this?
00:38I don't know. I have no idea.
00:44I'm a forensic expert.
00:50I've been open for 20 years.
00:52Almost all countries have the same problem.
01:09Their criteria for everything is money.
01:17It's a threat.
01:19It's a threat to my life.
01:21I don't do more or less than what I do.
01:25It wasn't just the dogs that were trying to help, it was us also.
01:29Why? I'm busting my ass to do this.
01:31You know, anybody can criticize. Few people can do.
01:35All of my colleagues felt that it's too much at some point.
01:38It's frustrating. It truly is.
01:41I can't empty 30, 40 kettles on a Saturday.
01:45And by Tuesday of the next week, I'm full again.
01:47I'm so tired that I can't even eat.
01:50I've lost friends because I just didn't have the time to see them.
01:54I'm very sure that things will change.
01:57Otherwise, I wouldn't be sitting here and fighting.
02:00You just do it because it's the right thing to do.
02:03It's all about relationships. It's all about trust and a bond.
02:06This is extremely rewarding.
02:08Volunteering has to do with what we can offer to our colleagues and to the animals.
02:14And who's benefiting? Both parties are benefiting.
02:17So it's a win-win.
