00:08The Bureau of Immigration and NBI is reminding people to have a birth certificate

00:14and other documents related to national security.

00:18Some of them seem to be following the steps of the suspended mayor, Alice Guo.

00:24She's talking about Darlene Cai.

00:33Who can forget the viral response of the suspended mayor, Alice Guo,

00:38when some senators asked her about some details of her personality.

00:42This answer is also being used by some foreigners who are being caught by the Bureau of Immigration

00:48with a pecking birth certificate.

00:50Like the two houses that were caught by the NBI in Naia Terminal 3 on July 10.

00:55The other one, the one we arrested in Paliparan the other day,

00:59claimed that she was homeschooled, so she has no records or anything of her childhood.

01:09Her last siblings, she's not sure what their names are.

01:13According to the NBI, this is a sign that their documents were only doctored.

01:18There are also foreign nationals who have a pecking birth certificate

01:22and are used to answering, so it's harder for them to detect.

01:25They already reviewed their answers and they've been using that identity for a long time.

01:32Since 2019, the NBI has caught 14 people with pecking birth certificates

01:37and other important documents such as passports.

01:40There are a lot who just want to live here permanently,

01:45but I guess they were taking shortcuts in getting their citizenship.

01:52For the Bureau of Immigration and the National Bureau of Investigation or NBI,

01:55this is a clear threat to national security.

01:58After the NBI discovered the 200 birth certificates

02:02that were issued by the local civil registry of Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur,

02:06most of the pecking birth certificates were Chinese.

02:10If a foreign national has a Philippine birth certificate,

02:13she is considered Filipino, so she could be lost in the radar of the NBI.

02:18In our fact-finding investigations, we go to the barangays

02:24where the birth certificates are declared.

02:29If we determine that we have sufficient evidence to file a case,

02:38then that's the time that we will endorse it to the Office of the Solicitor General

02:42for the filing of the petition of cancellation of birth certificate.

02:46Some congressmen wanted the camera to investigate the incident.

02:50Senate Minority Leader Coco Pimentel said that the law should be strengthened

02:55in addition to the late registration.
