00:00Hello, I'm Sally Janeson, the new MP for Doncaster Central.
00:03Join me today as I take a trip around the constituency.
00:06So we started off at the DN1 Deli and Restaurant where I met the wonderful owner Sarah,
00:11who told us that two of their chefs are up for national awards which is absolutely fantastic
00:16for Doncaster. Next I headed to the market where I met with some of the local traders
00:21and stocked up on fish and veg. It's really important to shop local wherever we can and
00:26support our market to keep it thriving so make sure you head down if you get a chance.
00:31I then headed to the Corn Exchange which is really beautiful. It's going to be fantastic
00:36when it opens up later in the year and I can't wait for that. It was also great to hear that
00:41there's local companies like a company in Kirk's Sandal which are providing the glass indoors
00:46and we also have local apprentices from Doncaster College who are getting to work
00:50on this listed building which is a really great opportunity for our young people.
00:55From there I then headed to Lakeside Primary Academy where I met with the head teacher.
01:01They recently have had a good Ofsted which is absolutely brilliant for the school.
01:06I heard about some of the things they're doing in terms of SEM provision and we spoke about
01:10labour plans for schools going forward. Next I headed to Ticker Library where I met some
01:15of the volunteers there. I then went to some of the businesses on the high street to meet
01:20with some of the local owners and hear about how they're getting on. Again it's a really
01:24important to shop in these local areas whenever you get a chance. I went to Tweedy's in Wadworth
01:29for a little bite to eat next for a refuel on a busy day. Really tasty, make sure you head down.
01:34I then went to Hextorpe Flats Park where I met with the volunteers there and the local councillors
01:39and the council. It really is beautiful and the volunteers do a lot of work to keep it clean and
01:45tidy. If you have any time to spare let them know. Finally I went to the Armthorpe Summer Fair at
01:50Shorewood Academy. Great family fun put on by the parish council and the local school there.
01:56So it was a fabulous day, like and follow for more.
