00:00What's up? Paul here from Guitar World and today we're going to be checking out a
00:03classic legacy model guitar now available as an affordable electric 12
00:08string. The Guild Starfire 112. Let's check it out.
00:19Many guitarists in the know are aware of the legendary Guild Starfire guitar as a
00:24six-string used by countless musicians and artists. Now Guild has made this
00:29popular model affordable as a 12 string electric guitar. The Starfire 112
00:34features a semi-hollow construction with a mahogany center block for increased
00:38sustain and chime from the octave strings and as a byproduct it also
00:44reduces feedback. The guitar is made with a sturdy arched mahogany top back and
00:48sides and the Starfire also maintains classic Guild tone and response without
00:54sacrificing live playability.
01:06This guitar features a 24 and 3 quarter inch scale length, an 11 16th inch nut
01:13width and a super flat 12 and a half inch radius rosewood fretboard. It also
01:20has a modern thin u-neck profile that provides a fast and smooth playing field.
01:25You'll also notice at the 18th fret the neck to body joint that offers easy
01:30access to the upper register of the fretboard and over here the guitar
01:35employs that trusty tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece to ensure solid
01:40intonation along with great sustain.
01:45Inspired by Guild's coveted HB-1 pickups, these Guild HB-2 humbuckers are
01:54constructed using Alnico II magnets for rich and full tones and perfectly
02:00complement the full spectrum of frequencies produced by a 12 string
02:04guitar.
02:14You can pull up on either pickups volume knob to engage the coil split mode for
02:19each pickup individually allowing for either fully lush humbucking tones or
02:23jangly single coil tones and every combination in between using the
02:28three-way toggle switch.
02:34The Guild Starfire 112 comes complete with a fully bound body, classic Guild
02:54knobs, three-step black pickguard, nickel Guild headstock logo and full gloss
03:01cherry red finish which makes it all the more striking.
03:12If 12 string jangle is your preferred calling card then the Guild Starfire 112
03:18should be your next consideration for an airy and crisp electric 12 string with
03:23top-notch construction, easy playability and a wide range of warm and chimey
03:28tones all at a price that won't break the bank. Definitely check it out.
