00:00Ayat-e-Hussain, Ibtidaa-e-Ismaeel
00:13Our program is called Shana-e-Hussain.
00:17In this segment, we have with us Maulana Qamal Mehdiwi Sahib,
00:22who is not familiar with any of these terms. He is with us in Shana-e-Ramadan.
00:25And we have given Maulana Sahib two sessions in which we have discussed
00:30Maulana Ali Maqam.
00:34So that in the style of a story, we can listen to two aspects of Karbala.
00:42There are two stories. One is the story of Karbala.
00:45There are innumerable stories within it.
00:48So we can listen to the details of two important stories of Karbala.
00:52Thank you very much for your time.
00:55I feel like asking you about one such character of Karbala.
01:01I am sure the listeners will feel the same.
01:04Whenever I hear about him, though he is not a martyr,
01:09but it seems as a layman I am saying,
01:12that his sorrow, pain, suffering, grief, tragedy, observation,
01:18in any respect, please correct me if I am wrong,
01:22in any respect, he is no less than a martyr.
01:28But I don't understand that in many respects,
01:31in many martyrs, in fact, he is more than all the martyrs.
01:35That is, the son of Imam Ali Maqam.
01:38His name is Ali and we know him as Imam Zain-ul-Abideen.
01:41Tell us why he is called Zain-ul-Abideen or Sayyid-ul-Sajideen.
01:45Please tell me the details.
01:47I would like to know in the next 8-10-12 minutes,
01:50from his lens, because he observed the whole incident in the realm of illness.
01:54So from his lens, please tell me about Karbala and its consequences.
01:58Some sentences appeal to me or hurt me.
02:03When Imam Ali Maqam is going and Imam Zain-ul-Abideen is asking,
02:07where is Akbar, where is Abbas, where is Qasim?
02:10He keeps asking one by one.
02:11To the extent that Imam Hussain said,
02:13Son, you understand, now it is either you or me among men.
02:17So he is seeing all that.
02:19When every martyr is being martyred,
02:21then the worldly problems are disappearing.
02:23They are not disappearing.
02:25Now there is no comparison with anyone.
02:28But even a common man,
02:30now my tongue is shaking saying this,
02:32that if he sees the women of his house in a state of pain,
02:37then it is very difficult to die.
02:40He says,
02:42Even if he is in pain,
02:44I don't want this to happen.
02:46We say that mothers are everyone's help,
02:48daughters are everyone's help.
02:50He saw all that.
02:52When I heard that Ashar,
02:54One day, Minhal came and said,
02:56O Maula, O Zain-ul-Abideen,
02:58Where is more sorrow?
03:00He held his heart and started crying.
03:02While crying, he said,
03:04When he is seeing the whole scene of the evening,
03:07There is a couplet of Shaukat Sahib,
03:09which is very dear to my heart.
03:11How would Sajjad have spent his time?
03:15The name of Zainab, which would have been called by the non-Muslims.
03:20O Lord, may I find someone who recognizes me.
03:24In the market, Sajjad is asking for prayers.
03:27You please tell me.
03:29I think this is one such character of Karbala,
03:33which is technically not a martyr of Karbala.
03:36But it would be wrong to say that
03:38his pain is not less than any martyr of Karbala.
03:40Maybe it is more.
03:42In fact, Imam Hussain's Jihad was according to family traditions.
03:45Yes, martyrdom is a legacy.
03:47If Ali's son had not done Jihad like this,
03:50who else would have done it?
03:52Sher-e-Khuda, Waris-e-Zulfiqar.
03:55If Ali's son doesn't fight, who will?
03:57But,
03:59Imam Zain-ul-Abideen's Jihad was contrary to family traditions.
04:02Because he had to go to Kufa and Sham with his wives.
04:07Even at that time,
04:09when Imam Zain-ul-Abideen's father was martyred,
04:12he looked at his father's head and said,
04:14Peace be upon you, father Hussain.
04:18When poor people came to Sham,
04:20why do they call Imam Sayyid-ul-Sajideen?
04:23He has done a lot of Sajjad.
04:25But,
04:27Sayyid-ul-Sajideen is the leader of those who do Sajjad.
04:30Because,
04:32Sajjad,
04:34There have been many Sajjads in history.
04:36But, there has never been a Sajjad
04:38where there is a dead body of a father,
04:40a dead body of a brother,
04:42tents have been burnt,
04:43blankets have been snatched,
04:45wives and children have been slapped.
04:47At that time, Sayyid-ul-Sajideen spent the whole night in one Sajjad.
04:50It is written in history that he spent the whole night in one Sajjad.
04:53He said,
04:54There is no God but Allah, and the truth is the truth.
04:56There is no God but Allah, and worship is the true religion.
04:58Faith and truthfulness,
05:00These are mentioned in history.
05:04There is no God but Allah.
05:06I believe in you.
05:08Worship is the true religion. I am in your service.
05:10When it is easy to do Sajjad,
05:12It is easy.
05:14When everything is fine,
05:16it is easy to say, Thank Allah.
05:18At that time,
05:19the one who does worship is Zain-ul-Abideen.
05:21They are the adornment of the worshippers.
05:23And then,
05:25We have seen many times that
05:28if someone's son passes away,
05:33if he is blessed,
05:35he tries his best to reach his father's funeral.
05:38Yes, exactly like that.
05:39But, have you seen a son who has his father's body,
05:43and he says, I am going somewhere.
05:45An ordinary son can never do this.
05:49So, what must have happened to him,
05:51that his father's body is in front of him.
05:53There is a narration for 11 Muharram,
05:55that where was his body?
05:57And at that time, Bibi Zainab,
05:59who is his aunt,
06:01she said, O son Sajjad,
06:03I am seeing your condition.
06:05It seems as if your soul will leave.
06:07Imam Zain-ul-Abideen said about his sorrow.
06:09He said, Aunt,
06:11they buried their bodies,
06:13because the Yazidis buried their bodies.
06:15There is no one to bury my father's body.
06:17They don't even consider my father to be a Muslim.
06:19Because, as a Muslim,
06:21at least a body is buried.
06:23So, he was walking in that condition.
06:25And, the condition in which
06:27you see the body at the end,
06:29that scene is always in your mind.
06:31So, that poor body.
06:33Then, later,
06:35he came through a miracle.
06:37On 12 Muharram,
06:39even today, the tribe of Bani Asad
06:41wears a shroud and leaves.
06:43Because, when Imam Hussain reached Karbala,
06:45he took a promise from the tribe of Bani Asad
06:47to bury other bodies.
06:49So, when he came,
06:51he could not identify the bodies.
06:53Because, the identification of the body
06:55is through the head.
06:57So, what should he do?
06:59So, he prepared the Ganj-e-Shaheeda.
07:01Even today, whoever comes to Karbala,
07:03can see that the Ganj-e-Shaheeda
07:05is present on the right side of Hussain's feet.
07:07Where all the martyrs were buried together.
07:09The first body was about to be buried,
07:11but there was no sign.
07:13This is the body of Habib Ibn Mazahir.
07:15This is the body of Muslim Ibn Ausaja.
07:17This is the body of Abis Bin Shabib-e-Shakri.
07:19This is the body of John Ghulam-e-Habishi.
07:21One by one, the bodies were revealed.
07:23Now, there is a state of affairs in this.
07:25Certainly, a body would have been asked
07:27about the martyr's body.
07:29He would have said,
07:31don't you see the fruit of the rain in my heart?
07:33This is the body of my younger brother,
07:35Ali Akbar.
07:37One thing is different.
07:39When he buried his father's body,
07:41he wrote a Fikrah on his grave.
07:47This is the grave of Hussain,
07:49who was killed by thirst between two rivers.
07:51I say this from the perspective
07:53that even today,
07:55when a dead person is buried,
07:57his face is turned towards the Qibla.
07:59When Imam Zain-ul-Abideen
08:01would have buried his father,
08:03Imam Hussain,
08:05he would have said,
08:07your head is not present on your body,
08:09turn your face towards the Qibla.
08:11In this state,
08:13he was taken to Kufa.
08:15Those who have gone through this stage,
08:17I would say that
08:19they should be in such a mental trauma
08:21that they can't say anything.
08:23But they are the sons of Hussain.
08:25When they reach the Darbar-e-Sham,
08:27they say such a great sermon
08:29that the Darbar-e-Sham remains shaken.
08:31At that time, they say the sermon
08:33in that glory.
08:35Because Yazid had sent a Darbar-e-Khatib
08:37to the pulpit.
08:39He was praising Yazid at that time.
08:41The whole gathering was there.
08:43Imam Zain-ul-Abideen says,
08:45Do I have the permission
08:47to go to the pile of wood?
08:49He didn't go to the pulpit.
08:51Because it is not a pulpit.
08:53The pulpit is where
08:55the Qur'an is mentioned,
08:57where the Prophet is mentioned.
08:59He said, I will go to the pile of wood.
09:01After that, when the Imam went,
09:03he said,
09:05Whoever knows me, knows me.
09:07Whoever doesn't know me,
09:09knows me.
09:11Allah has given our family
09:13six virtues that are not
09:15found in any other family.
09:17Allah has given our family
09:19seven virtues that are not found
09:21in any other family.
09:23Allah has given us knowledge,
09:25wisdom, generosity,
09:27and love in the hearts of the believers.
09:29Allah has given us knowledge,
09:31generosity, generosity,
09:33and love in the hearts of the believers.
09:35The Imam wanted to say,
09:37No matter how much oppression you do,
09:39you can't take our love out of the hearts
09:41of the believers.
09:43You can imprison us in the dungeon,
09:45but you can't take our knowledge.
09:47You can't take our knowledge.
09:49Then he said, Allah has given us
09:51seven personalities in our family.
09:53And it is obvious that
09:55he is from the progeny of the Prophet.
09:57He is from our family.
09:59He is from our family.
10:01Hasan, Hussain, Syed, and Shabab of Ahlul Jannah
10:03are from our family.
10:05Bibi Fatima Tuzara is from our family.
10:07Jafar Tayyar is from our family.
10:09Asadullah, Wasud, and Rasul of
10:11Hazrat Hamza are from our family.
10:13The poets of Allah and Rasul of Allah
10:15are from our family.
10:17The Mahdi of this Ummah is from our family.
10:19He said, he who knows me,
10:21knows me.
10:23I am the son of Mecca,
10:25I am the son of Mina,
10:27I am the son of Zamzam.
10:29I am the son of the one
10:31who fought with two swords.
10:33When the believers used to do Jihad,
10:35they used to fight with two swords.
10:37And the one who did two migrations,
10:39and the one who
10:41came to Allah,
10:43the one who did not
10:45associate partners with Allah,
10:47I am his son.
10:49Then he said,
10:51I am the son of Khadijah,
10:53I am the son of Fatima Tuzara.
10:55In the end,
10:57it is written in the end of the narration
10:59that the court was crying
11:01and Yazid was in such a danger
11:03that from the sermon of
11:05Imam Zain al-Abideen,
11:07the whole court will turn upside down.
11:09The world asks, what is Hussain's?
11:11All are of the pure God,
11:13God is Hussain's.
11:15And look at the power of Ali's daughter,
11:17that the floor of Yazid's palace
11:19is of Hussain's.
11:21When Imam Zain al-Abideen and
11:23Bibi Zainab's sermons
11:25were stopped,
11:27there was no time for the call to prayer.
11:29The call to prayer was stopped
11:31when the Muazzin started calling to prayer.
11:33Even then, the Imam stopped
11:35the call to prayer.
11:37And when the Muazzin said
11:39Allahu Akbar in the call to prayer,
11:41the Imam said,
11:43My flesh, my blood,
11:45my skin,
11:47all of them bear witness
11:49that there is no God but Allah.
11:51I bear witness that there is no God but Allah.
11:53And the Imam said,
11:55Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
11:57When the Muazzin reached here,
11:59there was no time for the call to prayer.
12:01But when he reached here,
12:03the Imam stopped him.
12:05And looking at Yazid, he said,
12:07The name of Muhammad
12:09in the call to prayer,
12:11is it my pain or yours?
12:13And if you say that it is your pain,
12:15then you are lying.
12:17You are disbelieving.
12:19And if you say that it is my pain,
12:21then why did you kill his pain?
12:23This was the special proof,
12:25scale and argument
12:27of Imam Zain-ul-Abidin.
12:29After the rule of Yazid,
12:31where could it go?
12:33After a few days,
12:35he had to release him.
12:37He had to release him.
12:39Because it was like
12:41the matter will turn upside down here.
12:43It will end.
12:45So this is not just a sermon.
12:47It is also a description of Karbala.
12:49Who is this and who is that?
12:51After that, Imam Zain-ul-Abidin,
12:53Otherwise, how would it have reached Syria?
12:55The Jihad of Karbala.
12:57It would have ended in Karbala.
12:59It was the will of Allah
13:01that one son of Hussain
13:03should remain alive because of that disease.
13:05And then he should deliver sermons
13:07in Kufa and Syria.
13:09And he should take Hussainiyat
13:11to the court of Yazid.
13:13Because Yazid could have said,
13:15No one came there.
13:17You are the Imam of the highest station.
13:19Zainab told me this.
13:21One thing was this.
13:23And the martyrdom of one wife,
13:25Sakina.
13:27This turned the whole matter of Syria upside down.
13:29It is written in history
13:31that the women of Syria used to come
13:33and tell their men that
13:35if Hussain's daughter was martyred
13:37in Zindan,
13:39because many people did not even know
13:41the name of Hussain's daughter at that time.
13:43If she was martyred,
13:45then if you do not
13:47free Ahlul Bayt Rasool,
13:49then we will
13:51attack the court.
13:53We will bring weapons.
13:55We will bring swords.
13:57Women said this.
13:59In today's language,
14:01it is enough.
14:03Imam Zainab's sermons
14:05and the martyrdom of Sakina
14:07turned the whole court of Syria upside down.
14:09And then Ahlul Bayt Rasool came back.
14:11Anyway, Imam Zainab
14:13went to Karbala with his wife Zainab.
14:15He went to his father's grave.
14:17After that,
14:19he went to Madinah again.
14:21When he went to Madinah,
14:23he kept his memory alive
14:25in such a way that
14:27Dastarkhan became the memory of Imam Hussain.
14:29He used to cry when he used to see water.
14:31He used to cry when he used to see food.
14:33There was a traveler in Madinah.
14:35He used to ask him that
14:37you have come here.
14:39Suppose,
14:41you are buried here.
14:43Don't you have any fear
14:45that who will bury me?
14:47You don't know anything.
14:49He said that I am a Muslim.
14:51Someone will come and bury me.
14:53Imam used to tell people
14:55that a Muslim has the right
14:57that if he is dead somewhere,
14:59then a Muslim should come
15:01and arrange burial for him.
15:03But my father was not given this right.
15:05The grandson of the Prophet
15:07was not given this right.
15:09He was buried in Madinah.
15:11After that,
15:13Imam Hussain said that
15:15every pious person hears
15:17that someone has tears in his eyes,
15:19someone is sad,
15:21everyone is sad.
15:23But among us,
15:25there is someone who goes to buy meat
15:27and is crying.
15:29He used to ask the butcher
15:31that did you give water
15:33to the animal that you killed?
15:35The butcher said that
15:37even the animals of Madinah
15:39are not thirsty.
15:41How was it possible
15:43that the one who killed you
15:45was thirsty?
15:47Then someone used to come
15:49and console him.
15:51He took the name of Minhal.
15:53He had a companion.
15:55Imam used to hide his father
15:57under his feet.
15:59Once, his father was a little
16:01injured.
16:03Minhal came and asked
16:05Imam said that when I went
16:07from Karbala to Kufa and from Kufa to
16:09Sham, the camel
16:11on which I was made to sit,
16:13my feet were tied
16:15with the sheath of the camel.
16:17The meat was slowly finished.
16:19God knows how many problems there were.
16:21Then he consoled him that
16:23even then, the martyrdom
16:25is the legacy of your family.
16:27Imam said that
16:29one of the sons of Yaqub
16:31Yusuf was blind.
16:33He knew that he was not dead.
16:35He was just blind.
16:37Quran says that
16:39he cried so much that his eyes became white.
16:41So, I had 18 families
16:43like Bani Hashim and Yusuf.
16:45They died together.
16:47Then he consoled him that
16:49the martyrdom is our legacy.
16:51But is it also our legacy
16:53that mothers and sisters
16:55have to go to the court
16:57and to the market.
16:59Then someone used to say
17:01that we will sit in front of you
17:03and talk to you for a while.
17:05Imam used to listen to them.
17:07Then someone saw that
17:09his eyes became white again.
17:11He cried again.
17:13He used to see the son of Abbas
17:15because he was martyred.
17:17He used to see the son of Abbas
17:19and cry.
17:21Then he said to Noman bin Munzir
17:23that there were 7 types of problems
17:25in Sham.
17:27One of the problems
17:29was that
17:31some singers and dancers
17:33were called in front of Zainab
17:35and Ahlul Bait-e-Risalat.
17:37Then people were
17:39throwing hot water
17:41on us.
17:43We were taken to the market
17:45like slaves.
17:47We were dragged like
17:49prisoners of Turk and Dalam.
17:51He narrated the problems one by one.
17:53He cried for 34 years.
17:55In 95 Hijri, 25 Muharram
17:57Karbala was in 61 Hijri.
17:59The one who kept Karbala alive
18:01was Bibi Zainab
18:03and Imam Zainab.
18:05Jazakallah
18:07Thank you
18:27Nihayat-e-Hussain
18:35Ibtidaah-e-Ismail
