Which is the best park in London?

We ask Londoners their favourite park in the capital. From dinosaurs at Crystal Palace to Hampstead Heath ponds.

00:00The Green Flag Awards celebrate some of the world's best green spaces and many of London's

00:06parks have now been certified by the organisation.

00:11Green Flag lists iconic parks such as Hampstead Heath and Hyde Park as heritage sites.

00:16It also includes Battersea Park on the list as an award winner, claiming it is the jewel

00:21of the crown of London's parks.

00:24Other lesser known parks are also given heritage status like Cannington Park and Vauxhall Park

00:29just next door.

00:30Today I'm in Crystal Palace Park, another award winner with dinosaurs and food markets

00:35on Sundays.

00:37But where are the most popular parks in London?

00:40Do Londoners enjoy going for a walk in a local park or would they make the most of our green

00:44spaces by hopping on a bus to visit their favourite park in the whole of the capital?

00:50I mean I am very biased, I do love Crystal Palace Park and actually I've started walking

00:56around it pretty much every day, it's become a big part of my life and seeing it change

01:00through the seasons and sort of developing a relationship with it and it's got lovely

01:04things for like my son, you can go in the maze and there's the laptop and you can see

01:08gigs there.

01:09Yeah, I mean I go to Brockwell Park all the time, I love Brockwell but I do walk there,

01:14I mean it is like an hour and twenty so maybe other people wouldn't walk but I love that

01:19I'm trying to think, Hampstead Heath, that counts as a park doesn't it?

01:25Yeah, I'd get on a train to go there, I'd go swimming in the ponds and it's a gorgeous

01:28park, when it's a lovely day, it's worth the trip to go there.

01:33Yeah, in London I like all the Royal Parks because they've got such a lot on offer, there's

01:41fountains and there's statues and there's events, so yeah, any of the Royal Parks, St

01:48James' Park is great, Greenwich Park I love, so yeah, I'd pick Greenwich, if I had to pick

01:55anything I'd pick Greenwich.
