00:00We go now to our special envoy, Junot Soner, who is at the Maiketilla International Airport
00:09with fresh information leading to the return to the homeland mission.
00:13Hello, good morning, we are greeting you today from the Simón Bolívar International Airport
00:19outside of Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.
00:22Why are we here? Because a plane is going to arrive today here at the airport carrying
00:29265 passengers in an important framework.
00:35These passengers are coming from Mexico City, from Mexico, and they are returning home to
00:42Venezuela, to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
00:45They are coming home within the framework of the great mission to return to the homeland,
00:52a new announced program in June by President Maduro that attempts to assist those Venezuelans
00:59who are abroad of the country and who have no means to return home on their own means.
01:05This program is a continuation of the Plan de la Vuelta a la Patria, Plan of the Return
01:11to Homeland, which has been enacted in 2018 and which has already brought home over 900,000
01:19Venezuelans who had emigrated from the country due to economic problems caused by the US
01:26sanctions that had targeted the Venezuelan economy.
01:29Now, we spoke today here with Pedro Assassone, who is the Deputy Minister in the Foreign
01:35Ministry responsible for the integral attention to the immigrants, and he has declared that
01:43they have a four-fold plan.
01:45It's not just bringing immigrants back to Venezuela, to their homeland, but it is also
01:50attending them in terms of judicial problems they might have, in terms of socio-economic
01:56integration, cultural reintegration, as well as attending them in matters of bureaucracy,
02:03registering them, and communication matters, so the Venezuelan government is not just bringing
02:10back home its citizens on a voluntary base, those who wish to come home, but it is also
02:16supporting them in reintegrating them into the Venezuelan society, into the Venezuelan
02:23economy within the framework of returning to the homeland.
02:28We expect that the Foreign Minister Ivan Hill will also give a welcome to the returning
02:33265 citizens of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, who will land here today at the
02:39Simon Bolivar International Airport outside of Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.
