00:00Hiya, I'm from the Durham University solar car team and we're here at the Goodwood Festival
00:03of Speed to show off both of our solar cars. This is Dust 2023 and behind there you can
00:09see Autus T. So we design, build and then race solar cars at major international events
00:17across the world. So the main race that we attend and we build our cars towards is the
00:21Bridgestone World Solar Challenge held in Australia every two or so years and that event
00:27is a 3,000 kilometre race from Darwin to Adelaide where we drive across the outback
00:32on public roads for six days, camping wherever we stop and yeah, we drive from eight till
00:38five using only the solar power that we have in the sky. So yeah, we do have a battery
00:43on board to help manage our race strategy you could say, but yeah, 90% of the energy
00:49that we use during the race is all from solar power.
