Can't get enough guacamole? Try these creative twists on the avocado dip.
Transcript
00:00People think that guac needs to be one certain way and they're having it at parties, you know,
00:07the same way over and over again. We're gonna twist it up a little bit and try some different
00:11ones. We're gonna use store-bought pesto. Just put it in with the avocados and, you know,
00:16instantly you have guac with only two ingredients. With guac, you generally want to have the herb
00:21and you want to have the garlic. Pesto has all those things built in already. Pomegranates are
00:25actually traditional in guacamole and we're gonna put some of those in and on top. I'm
00:29gonna use mint instead of cilantro and we're gonna use a blood orange. With the pesto one,
00:34we took a shortcut and the store-bought pesto is already salty enough, but with this one,
00:38since it's more from scratch, we have to make sure to add plenty of salt.
00:41By cutting the blood orange like this, it actually gets us to enjoy the dramatic color
00:50and not just the flavor of it. For our third guac, we're gonna do a pizza-flavored guacamole. I'm
00:56gonna slice up the pepperoni so that it can get mixed in to help that pepperoni essence get into
01:00the avocado. To round out our pizza flavors, I have some minced garlic here. I also have some
01:05grated Parmesan cheese. I'm gonna use some dried oregano and then we have some crushed pepper
01:09flakes as well. For this one, since we're going for the pizza look, I'm gonna flatten it out and
01:18add a few more pepperonis on top. Pepperoni, pepperonis, pepperoni, and just a sprinkle of
01:24cheese and we're good to go. Pepperoni pizza guacamole.
