00:00Mark, thank you for making time man. I know this has got to be a busy time. Of course you can hear
00:04Mark on 95.7 the game out in the Bay Area. What do you make of the Brandon IU trade request?
00:12Well I make of this that this is the next step. This is the next step for Brandon who I don't
00:17think has played this perfectly or should I say the advice from his agents have not been
00:23played perfectly. I think everyone has to remember that Brandon does not have leverage here. You know
00:28it's easy to get into situations like this and it's like Brandon should leave or Brandon should
00:33do this or that. He's under contract. The 49ers have already floated the idea. They don't like
00:41doing this but they've floated the idea of the franchise tag like they've got Brandon under
00:46control for a couple more years. So the idea of a trade request is going to have to sit with the
00:5449ers and I can promise you that at least right now it's not. Brandon's got millions of dollars
01:01on the line that he's playing with right here and being a little bit risky with right here.
01:08I get his position. He doesn't want to budge but he's in a tough spot and this is very early. I'll
01:15remind you that the other receiver requested a trade two years ago as well and then a couple
01:20months later signed a big contract extension. You absolutely and I think when you look at the
01:25situation the other teams that may want to trade for him they're looking at the fact of what he's
01:30requesting and not budging and they have to think twice about that. I believe Washington if they
01:35much involved they better damn well know what he's willing to accept and if they decide to
01:40trade for him that number is going to go up a little bit. Well and I also really wonder what's
01:44really on the line for a trade. If the 49ers wanted to trade Brandon Aiyuk the time to do
01:49it was before the draft right and so now now you're sitting in a spot where I question what
01:55could even be offered back to the 49ers that would interest them. Are they are they looking
02:01at a draft pick now next year and how does that play in the locker room this year. The 49ers have
02:08never had more pressure on them to win the Superbowl in the whole Kyle Shanahan era than
02:15they do this upcoming year. They really missed their best shot last year and so now everyone's
02:20looking at this situation thinking with Brock Purdy's contract extension looming next year
02:26this is their last best shot to do it and I have a hard time believing that they're going to openly
02:33and willingly weaken themselves by by sending their best receiver out the door.
