00:41You've got my hand.

00:56It's about, quite rightly, the Government of the House

00:59showing the respect to the House.

01:00That's all I ask for and that's what I will insist on.

01:03What I've got to remember is,

01:05the one thing that keeps me awake at night

01:07is MP security.

01:08That's the thing that really concerns me.

01:10The families and the people who work here

01:12and the people who work for MPs.

01:13To lose two MPs,

01:14to be murdered,

01:15carrying out their duties,

01:16is not acceptable.

01:18And of course they were murdering their constituencies,

01:20serving their constituents.

01:22This cannot happen.

01:23And what I will do,

01:24and what I continue to do,

01:26is look at all the security measures that are needed

01:29I work very closely with the security teams.

01:31I try to ensure we have the best we can to support MPs.

01:35Their safety is absolutely the one thing that really does matter to me.

01:40Because in the end,

01:41to lose two MPs,

01:42I cannot afford for anybody else to lose their life.

01:44And we've seen what happens.

01:46Capitol Hill.

01:47An attack on the presidential candidates.

01:49You know, we know that people out there

01:52don't share our values.

01:53They don't share in the belief that democracy is the way forward.

01:56I always say to people,

01:57please disagree.

01:58But if you do disagree,

02:00don't take the violent way.

02:02Don't try and intimidate people who believe in democracy.

02:04Why don't you stand at the election?

02:07Put your name on the ballot paper.

02:09Be and do it through a democratic process.

02:12Intimidation will never work.

02:13We will never give in to threats or violence.

02:16But it is the one thing that does concern me.
