00:00BOOKS OF DESTINY
00:03From the time a man is born till his death, the quest for destiny to fulfill purpose is
00:09his greatest adventure.
00:11In the old western part of Africa, in a beautiful place called Aranok, live so many beautiful
00:19people with vigor for life and destiny.
00:23Amongst them once lived these two young men, Popo and Nola.
00:28These friends were born almost the same time and have been friends from childhood.
00:35They grew up together facing almost the same conditions and situations at different interval
00:42of their lives.
00:44When the young men were at the peak of their teens, they took a decision to see a seer
00:49to know what the future holds for them.
00:53The IIFA priest consulted the oracle and told the young men what the god says concerning
01:00their future.
01:01To Popo he said, Bless are you, because the gods have destined you for greatness.
01:07They have taken time to arrange a greater future for you.
01:12You will rise greatly and tremendously, your wealth will be great and your fame will be
01:18mighty.
01:19The people of the kingdom where you dwell shall have no option but to make you king
01:24over their land, and you shall reign and also your descendants.
01:30Popo could not help it but to smile, his eyes full with life and his countenance glowing.
01:38He nodded thanks to the gods and Baba the seer, and he walked away happily.
01:44To Ola he said, How I wish you were not born, O!
01:49The brass that feed you must be aching by now, because your sorrow is great and will
01:56soon come.
01:58Poverty will come to you like a strong darkness that will attack you till all your defense
02:03are fallen.
02:05You will be greatly indebted and will not be able to pay.
02:10Your creditors will gather against you, just like a conspiracy.
02:15You shall be sold into slavery.
02:18A slave you shall be, and a slave you shall die.
02:23These are the words of the gods.
02:25Ola stood up with great pain in his heart, walked quietly out without a word.
02:32His thoughts wandered to and fro, but no place to anchor.
02:36Days came and time passed, but someone could not understand the mystery of time.
02:44Only those who see beyond what the ordinary eyes can see took hold of the great advantage
02:50and make a difference.
02:53Popo went his way, full of joy and life, celebrating his luck and sharing his testimonies with
03:01as many that wish or care to know or listen.
03:06He ordered drinks for himself and his well-wishers, and after every round of drink he shared his
03:13great testimonies of future to come, and people called him blessed.
03:19He continued to celebrate day after day, forgetting the need to see hope in the situation, putting
03:27in effort towards his destiny.
03:30His credit galloped till it became unbearable to his creditors.
03:34They took counsel together and bonded Popo.
03:38They arranged him before their elders' chiefs, and since he could not pay, the elders decided
03:46he should be sold, and the money should be used to offset his debt.
03:52Popo was sold into slavery, and he lived and died a slave.
03:58Ola thought to a break.
04:00I cannot be humiliated amongst my kindred.
04:04If I must be a slave, then it shall be far away in an unknown land where nobody knows
04:11me.
04:12If it must be poverty that will lead me to slavery, then I will not owe anybody.
04:19He concluded his thought and plans.
04:21He left for a land far away, separated from the people of the land.
04:27He took to an isolated part of the village.
04:31He started farming and hunting, even more than sufficient for his need.
04:37He gradually began to grow his wealth, until he became larger.
04:42A time came and a need for a king arise amongst the people of the new land where Ola dwell.
04:50The council of elders sat and conclude on a purpose.
04:55They agreed that whoever will be the king, he must be self-sufficient, brave and industrious.
05:03An elder stood up and said, not far from the villages lived a great hunter, brave and industrious,
05:12having great acres, occupied by crops.
05:16His name is Ola.
05:17The elders took counsel and concluded on Ola as their first king.
05:23They approached Ola and seek for his consent.
05:27He was made king.
05:29Do you think the Seerife a priest saw contrary?
05:33No, that's not true.
05:36It's the men that faulted.
05:38Popo faulted negatively, while Ola faulted positively, seeing hope in the situation.
05:46All I have to say to you is, to attain a dream greater than all, you must defeat yourself.
05:53Conquer the fear of death, failure and loneliness, for only the umbrella of boldness can shield
06:02you from the weather of failure in the time of difficulty.
