A few months ago, Nikki Haley was one of Donald Trump’s fiercest opponents. The two candidates engaged in public spats and name-calling as they campaigned for the Republican nomination. But on the second night of the Republican National Convention, Haley set aside their past conflicts and formally endorsed her ex-boss and onetime rival for the general election.

00:00My fellow Republicans, President Trump asked me to speak to this convention in the name
00:18of unity.
00:31It was a gracious invitation and I was happy to accept.
00:42I'll start by making one thing perfectly clear.
00:47Donald Trump has my strong endorsement, period.
01:15Our country is at a critical moment.
01:19We have a choice to make.
01:22For more than a year, I said a vote for Joe Biden is a vote for President Kamala Harris.
01:33After seeing the debate, everyone knows it's true.
01:38If we have four more years of Biden, or a single day of Harris, our country will be
01:45badly worse off.
01:48For the sake of our nation, we have to go with Donald Trump.
02:06But there's more to it than that.
02:10We should acknowledge that there are some Americans who don't agree with Donald Trump
02:15100% of the time.
02:19I happen to know some of them.
02:23And I want to speak to them tonight.
02:36My message to them is simple.
02:39You don't have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him.
02:50Take it from me.
02:52I haven't always agreed with President Trump.
02:56But we agree more often than we disagree.
03:05We agree on keeping America strong.
03:12We agree on keeping America safe.
03:18And we agree that Democrats have moved so far to the left that they're putting our freedoms
03:25in danger.
03:30I'm here tonight because we have a country to save.
03:35And a unified Republican Party is essential for saving her.
