Auli’i Cravalho Says 'Moana 2' Still Isn't Finished, Describes Dwayne Johnson As a ‘Guiding Light’

00:00As a mom of two, we are counting down the days to November because we've watched Moana

00:05about a thousand times in our house and we're so excited.

00:08What was it like reprising that role, getting back into the studio and bringing her to life

00:13once again?

00:14Oh, it was such a joy.

00:16We aren't done with the film yet, so we're still working on it.

00:20We will get it to you in November, but I love the team.

00:24They're so passionate, they're so knowledgeable about, you know, Polynesian culture, but also

00:30how we want to see Moana grow.

00:33I am turning 24 this year and getting to come back to this character has been really lovely.

00:39Like, I get to sing songs that are Disney-fied, but again, there's also growth in a character

00:46and I think it's so special that for the first time we get to see a Disney princess grow

00:53And how will we see, I know you obviously can't spoil anything, but what can you kind

00:58of tell us about her growth and what we'll see her kind of accomplish in this film?

01:02I don't know, I don't know, I feel Mickey Mouse breathing down my neck, but I know that

01:08it's great.

01:09We have a wonderful music team, Barlow and Bear, we have our incredible creative writing

01:16team behind it as well.

01:18I can't wait for it to come out.

01:24What is it like working closely with The Rock, though, or, you know, Dwayne?

01:28I mean, he's been in your life now for, you know, over 10 years.

01:33So what's this relationship been like with the two of you?

01:36Oh, he's wonderful.

01:38He is a hometown hero also.

01:40So I feel like, almost like he's a big brother or like an uncle to me because I've heard

01:45about him since my childhood, before Moana, and getting to meet him at first was kind

01:51of like a, I get to meet The Rock, a superstar.

01:55And now I have him via text, like we're talking, especially about live action Moana, as well

02:01as I'm an executive producer on that.

02:03So he is a guiding light through all of this.

02:07He's so lovely.

02:08He smells great, like all around, wonderful guy to work with.

02:14What does he smell like, if you had to describe it?

02:17There's like a faint sense of vanilla.

02:19Like I don't want to get into the undertones of what must be his cologne, but he's always

02:24like glistening also, like muscles on, like he's a great coaster.
