00:00Welcome back to TMZ Sports. Mike and Mojo. Mojo, I am so happy because training camp is here. Players probably aren't happy, but it means football season is getting closer. Mojo and one of those teams that is back in campus, those guys right there, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. A lot of the players reported today. Travis Kelsey still not there yet.
00:30Actually with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, overseas. Travis will be there in a few days. Patrick Mahomes at camp. Now, Mojo, we know, of course, that Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year. So by all accounts, you would say incredible season. As good as it could have gone, right?
00:46Well, no, not if you ask Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes met with the media and wait until you hear the way he talks about last season and particularly the offense and how they have to be better this upcoming season. Now, he's not just going to talk about the offense and getting better. He also talks, Mojo, about something special that Patrick, for the first time in his long NFL career, that he has brought something special with him to camp. Watch this.
01:16Back in St. Joe's, it's time to get better. Every season starts different. You got to come in with that same mentality you had the year before, even a higher intensity. And even though we won the Super Bowl last year, we feel like we didn't play our best football, especially offensively. So it's our goal to be better that way. And we have to come with that mentality every single day.
01:32This is my first year I'm bringing a TV. So I haven't brought a TV ever before. But NCAA came out and I'm going to have to turn it on. So I brought a TV for NCAA and the Olympics. So that's my first year of doing that.
01:43Mojo, of course, he's talking about the EA Sports College Football 25 game, which just dropped and is a huge, huge deal because for the first time you've got the actual players in the game. So it's not just gamers that are pumped, but Patrick Mahomes is pumped, too.
01:57That's it, Babcock. We have all the evidence we need. The chiefs are gonna suck this year because Pat Mahome brought a television to camp and that is a massive distraction. That's all we need to know to write them off for the entire season.
02:16Here's another thing that grabs my attention, Babcock. And I, I mean, I played football for a very long time. I never understood why when you're in the middle of training camp, which by almost all accounts sucks, it's the worst time of the year.
02:34No football player outside of one in my entire career, Brady Pupinga in Green Bay, has ever looked forward to training camp. He is the only one I've ever heard like was slashing days off the counter leading up to it. But camp sucks. You're in meetings all day long. If you're a new player trying to make it, it is the most stressful time in your life. Everything. You have everything.
03:01It's crazy hot outside mojo, right? You're on the field for hours.
03:04Oh man. Yeah. I mean, granted, we don't have two a days like we used to. That really made it. But yeah, the heat, the conditions, it is horrible. But you take all this in account, the meetings, the meetings, more meetings. Why are we having so many more meetings for the one hour a day that you're free pretty much? And you're going to spend it playing football? Like what are we talking?
03:29I don't care if it's virtual or a video game at all. Do something else. Now the Olympics, I understand the Olympics. Okay. It's athletic. It's keeping us focused. It's motivating us. It's inspiring us. We got people literally trying to bring home a gold medal for the country, not just the Super Bowl trophy for the city. You know, like that's even more inspiring like that. I get video games.
03:54I never understood. He would have never saw me playing any football game, college or pro during camp. Absolutely not.
