00:00Now on, you're dead.
00:02It's all erased.
00:04No more criminal records, no more getting arrested just for being naked or just usual stuff, you know, being naked, getting drunk, casual stuff.
00:11So we're all gonna die.
00:13Watch me!
00:19As an audience, we don't get to know too much backstory about your characters.
00:22I'm curious as to how much backstory you all knew,
00:25and as an actor, is it easier or is it harder when that information is given to you versus when you have to fill in the gaps yourself?
00:31Oh, interesting.
00:33I don't know where to begin.
00:36Yeah, I mean, I usually have a pretty clear backstory before I show up to work,
00:42but then, you know, if you've created this backstory, then Michael Bay will just be like,
00:46No, you're an orphan! Go!
00:48You know, you're just like, wait, what?
00:50Okay, so it's all sort of thrown out the window, and that's a good thing.
00:54Sometimes it's good to sort of kill your darlings and, you know, surrender to a process you're unfamiliar with,
01:00and I think we all sort of felt like this was a process none of us were familiar with.
01:04Michael Bay has got a kind of chaotic style of filmmaking that he somehow finds a way to make it all galvanize in the edit room,
01:10but to be there is wild.
01:13I prefer to have my own, you know, because it makes it more personal.
01:18But yeah, at the end, you're there shooting, and everything goes away because, you know.
01:24You can also always have, like, your own and never really tell your director what you're really doing.
01:30That's true.
01:31But we didn't have that conversation with Michael.
01:33I mean, this is not a... I mean, it's an action-packed movie,
01:37and you will get to know every single one of the characters,
01:39and I think you'll fall in love with every single one of the characters, but it's not a drama piece.
01:43You can say, it's not designed for the Telluride Film Festival. We get it.
01:47It's an action film.
01:49It's challenging to fill in the gaps, but it's actually more fun that way.
01:55We're sort of given these outlines.
01:58In this movie, I think we were given sort of an outline, and then we could kind of help fill it in.
02:03But the great part about this film is that, like, Michael, as we were sort of saying before,
02:08like, he is trying to get back to sort of character work and, like, diving in on their storylines.
02:15And so it was kind of fun to collaborate in that way about the little details,
02:20the small things that might sort of unravel later on in subsequent sequels.
02:25And so it was cool to lay, like, little Easter eggs and things in there to, you know, see how it plays out.
02:33And I think the movie is all about, like, our evolutions also.
02:36Like, no matter what, if you see perfectly and precisely our backstory,
02:41I don't know if it's just changing a lot of things.
02:43It's just like they've been picked up from that guy, and they start the movie in a certain way,
02:48and they really end the movie totally different and totally changed.
02:51And I think that's the joy for everybody to just, like, change your arc and change your character,
02:58especially maybe us two.
03:00Like, we really change. We really go somewhere else.
03:03We're kind of like the soldiers, training and very tough and cold.
03:08And then we go to emotions.
03:10And I think we had fun to just, like, especially in the Michael Bay movie, you know, to work on, like, emotions.
03:18Bonjour.
03:19Hi. Hey.
03:20I don't know if I should ask this question directly to you or to everyone except for you,
03:24but I grew up knowing you from Waiting and Van Wilder and then Deadpool, these goofy characters.
03:29But then I've seen you in things like Amyville Whore and The Voice Isn't Buried.
03:32I'm curious, how does your real-life personality compare to those sillier characters that you play?
03:37Oh, I don't know. I mean, I always try to look for the fun in things.
03:41I make a lot of jokes, a lot of dumb jokes, a lot of fine jokes, I suppose.
03:47I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
03:50I think I'm closer to those guys than, like, the hardcore drama stuff, I guess,
03:55because, you know, life is short. It's later than you think. Enjoy yourself.
03:59We're all gonna die. May as well do it while we're alive.
04:03Watch me!
04:06Sounds fun, right?
04:07If you could add another member to your Six Underground, who would it be?
04:12And it could be anyone from Jason Bourne to an Austin Powers, everything in between.
04:15Oh, wow.
04:16What do you think would round out the team?
04:17I'd take Vanisher from X-Force. I felt like his character arc wasn't fully explored.
04:22Right.
04:23And also, who doesn't want to be hanging out with Brad Pitt, right?
04:28I would say Oscar Isaac.
04:30Nice!
04:31From Trouble Frontier.
04:33Nice.
04:34What's the name Josh Brolin did in Deadpool 2?
04:37Cable?
04:38Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love that guy.
04:40Yeah, yeah. Brolin's a good guy, too.
04:41Oh, yeah, yeah.
04:42We need just to be together. We just need to have, like, another adventure all together
04:47because we had so much fun.
04:49And it's stupid because you always, as a journalist, hear that, like,
04:54we're such a good family and we're, like, so close to each other.
04:57So it doesn't, people doesn't believe us anymore.
05:00But that was really the case.
05:01It's really hard sometimes jumping on because we go, you know, usually from,
05:06hopefully from project to project to project.
05:08And you're working with new families every time.
05:10And it's not always as easy of a thing to do.
05:15And we really, like, fell in love with each other.
05:18And we had to as well. But, like, we genuinely had a great time.
05:22And, like, even on this press tour, like, being able to see each other's faces
05:25and, like, remember what we went through because this movie was such a crazy,
05:30wild ride, man.
05:32It's just amazing.
05:34You're not about to be remembered.
05:36It's about to happen, Will.
05:38Good things can erase the bad ones, right?
05:40Who the hell are you?
05:43We're no one.
05:46I knew it wasn't true at work.
05:48I mean, I wasn't sure, sure. I had a suspicion.
05:50God, this is all so fucking dangerous.
