00:00The cyber security firm CrowdStrike has been sued.
00:07The problem was the global IT outage
00:11that affected the services of many companies in different parts of the world, including the Philippines.
00:18In a post on X, the company's CEO said
00:22that this was caused by a defect in an update for Windows hosts.
00:28He added that this was not a security incident or a cyber attack.
00:33Here in the Philippines, the Davao International Airport was also affected by the cyber outage
00:41where passengers are being harassed, just like what is happening now in Naya.
00:47The Mactan-Cebu International Airport was not affected by the ongoing operation.
00:54As for the banks in the Philippines, the firms that were affected by the IT outage
01:00are Banco de Oro, Metrobank, RCBC, Union Bank, BPI, and PNB.
01:07Depending on the bank, the services affected include the online banking service,
01:13credit card services, bills payment, and others.
01:17They are monitoring the situation and consulting their service providers
01:23so that this can return to normal.
01:26ATMs can still be accessed.
