00:00Japan has become one of the top tourist destinations for Filipinos.

00:04Is there any effort to make it easier for Filipinos to acquire visas to Japan?

00:11Since I arrived in Manila, it's been three months or four months,

00:16whenever I make a visit or courtesy calls to secretaries or senators or whoever,

00:25there are many people around them saying that I've just visited Japan.

00:31In my capacity, I would also like to exert my effort to further promote the interest among the Filipino people into Japan

00:41through tourism, through, as we have just mentioned, the employment, etc.

00:48So promotion of people-to-people exchanges is really the foundation of our bilateral relations

00:56and I would further like to make our own efforts for that direction.

01:02And I feel delightful to be able to inform you that a record high number of Filipinos,

01:09namely about 340,000 Filipinos, visited Japan between January and May this year, according to the recent statistics.

01:22And the Japanese government continues its support to enable more Filipinos to visit Japan.

01:29For example, in June this year, a new category was introduced to issue multiple entry visas for stay up to 90 days.

01:41So our government is also continuously improving the convenience of visa applications for easier travel to Japan.

01:50And through those efforts, we would like to further encourage more Filipinos making visits to Japan.
