2. **"Papa" as a Type of Bear** - A head-scratcher that’ll leave viewers chuckling at the misunderstanding of bear species.
3. **"Gynecologist" for Dirty Jobs** - An awkward moment where the contestant’s answer missed the mark on what the show was looking for.

00:00That was really not good, I'm sorry.
00:02Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 20 Dumbest Family Feud Fails.
00:09Name a number that most men exaggerate.
00:12A hundred.
00:15For this list, we're looking at the worst answers given on any iteration of this popular survey-themed game show.
00:21Which of these responses made you laugh the most? Let us know in the comments.
00:26Number 20, Yogi.
00:28The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears is one of the most enduring fairy tales ever crafted.
00:34So, when this contestant was asked to name one of the three bears during the Fast Money round,
00:38it should have been easy.
00:43However, he seemed to forget all about the common fairy tale and quickly responded,
00:47Yogi.
00:48One of the three bears.
00:50Yogi.
00:53The round was soon interrupted by everyone from the contestant with a pilot background
00:57to the studio audience all guffawing.
00:59Host Richard Dawson even got in a wisecrack about how the competitor was, quote,
01:05While this contestant may be good at flying actual planes,
01:08his answer definitely crashed and burned.
01:18Number 19, Mutual Friends.
01:20Sometimes family feud answers are more than just wrong,
01:24they're completely illogical.
01:26When this contestant is asked to name something you make conversation about
01:30when you meet a stranger, she responds with,
01:38We're not quite sure how that would work.
01:40And admittedly, the contestant doesn't sound too confident in her answer either.
01:44Host Richard Dawson can't help but playfully tease her about the response
01:48and imagines an entire scenario in which two people meet by chance
01:52and try to talk about a mutual acquaintance.
01:57How's Harry?
02:00Who's Harry?
02:03This unfortunate answer results in the family's third strike.
02:13While a stranger can be a friend you haven't met yet,
02:16there was no way her response was going to be on the board.
02:19Number 18, Because It's Raining.
02:22The pressure of being on family feud has caused many a contestant
02:26to give an answer that doesn't make a lick of sense.
02:28At the start of a round, competitors are asked,
02:35Unfortunately, one contestant was clearly more concerned with ringing in first
02:39than comprehending the question.
02:41After slamming his hand on the buzzer, he replies,
02:44Because it's raining.
02:45Something tells us he heard the first part of the question but not the second.
02:49Speed on family feud is not nearly as important as accuracy.
02:58Number 17, Hanukkah.
03:01There are so many traditions associated with Christmas.
03:08You decorate the tree, you unwrap gifts and also celebrate Hanukkah?
03:13That's what a contestant named Debbie suggested during her time on the show.
03:20Debbie.
03:21Hanukkah.
03:22When asked to name a Christmas tradition,
03:24she seemed to forget that Hanukkah was a completely separate holiday
03:28that has a long and rich history of its own.
03:30Debbie and host Ray Combs start cracking up right after she makes this blunder.
03:35Honestly, we wouldn't be surprised if a new holiday tradition at her house
03:38is being reminded of this classic response.
03:41I say we call it a Christmas tree.
03:43Number 16, Yourself.
03:46Certain answers risk revealing more about who gave the response than intended.
03:50When one contestant is asked to name something you wash once a week,
03:54she buzzes in with,
03:55Yourself.
03:56Judging by the competitor's wincing reaction,
03:59this was another ridiculous answer that doesn't reflect her actual bathing habits.
04:04However, host Richard Dawson makes the best of the moment
04:06and milks the misstep for all it's worth.
04:09I will not be coming around.
04:11It makes for an absolutely hilarious mid-game exchange.
04:14And as an added bonus,
04:16this answer definitely promotes water conservation.
04:19I haven't bathed in weeks.
04:21But we've only been out for a few hours.
04:24I know.
04:26Number 15, Frog.
04:28The fast money round is a treat for viewers
04:31who enjoy seeing contestants give absurd answers under pressure.
04:35After being asked to name an animal with three letters in its name,
04:38he responds,
04:39Frog.
04:40Although the contestant tries to shake off this bad answer,
04:44he doesn't fully recover.
04:46Later in the round,
04:46he's asked to name something that comes with a summer storm,
04:49and he says,
04:50Snow.
04:51We hope this family didn't need those fast money earnings too badly.
04:57Number 14, Chicken.
05:00What's more embarrassing than giving an incorrect response?
05:03Shouting out a wrong answer and acting like you nailed it.
05:06On Family Feud Canada,
05:08a round's opening question was name Popeye's favorite food.
05:11The contestant to ring in first replies,
05:15Chicken.
05:16With utter confidence,
05:18complete with a victory dance.
05:20This premature celebration leaves host Jerry D and the competitor's family stunned.
05:25To add insult to injury,
05:27the other contestant easily replies with the correct answer.
05:30Spinach, Jerry.
05:31While mixing up Popeye the sailor with the chicken chain was bad at the moment,
05:36the answer paid off.
05:42The restaurant offered her $10,000 worth of menu items.
05:47Number 13, The Bottom Part.
05:50Remember the days of landline phones?
05:52We'd pick up the receiver,
05:54dial the buttons,
05:55and wrap the cord around our fingers.
06:02These are just three examples of how this contestant could have answered this particular question.
06:07Unfortunately,
06:08when a contestant was asked to name a phone part,
06:11she went with the bottom part.
06:13Although we can understand what she was going for,
06:16a vague answer like that was never gonna fly for the show.
06:19It also stings that her teammate had earned her family 58 points by answering receiver earlier.
06:26Well, at least she didn't say the top part.
06:28Number 12, Orange.
06:30A number of Family Feud contestants would do great if the show ever did an opposite day episode.
06:36One such contestant would have excelled in a fast money round,
06:39where she was asked to name a yellow fruit.
06:42The competitor responds with,
06:44Orange.
06:45It's hard to forgive her for going with a fruit that tells you exactly what color it is in its name.
06:50You can immediately tell that she wishes she could go back and give another more accurate response.
06:56Or, to speak in terms of an answer she should have given instead,
07:00it looks like it drove her bananas.
07:05Well, guess she couldn't make lemonade out of these lemons.
07:08Okay, we'll stop.
07:10It's clearly booming part.
07:12Number 11, Excited.
07:14Different words can have varied meanings depending on the context.
07:17You can certainly feel an emotion like excitement,
07:20but that's not the kind of feeling this question was referring to.
07:23When asked to name something you feel before you buy it,
07:26this contestant responds not with an item, but an emotion.
07:31Mike, excited.
07:32We're guessing he let his own excitement get the best of him.
07:35Host Richard Karn looked equal parts shocked and amused at this response.
07:39Fortunately, the contestant was also entertained by this misunderstanding.
07:43If you could actually buy excitement,
07:46we assume this competitor would visit that store every day.
07:49I'm so excited! I'm so excited!
07:53Number 10, Read.
07:56What would Family Feud be without Steve Harvey and his classic reactions?
08:01Sometimes, Harvey is so flabbergasted by a contestant's response
08:05that it appears he's lost all faith in humanity.
08:07When asked to name something that's hard to do with one's eyes open,
08:10this contestant confidently says,
08:13Read.
08:13Harvey reminds the audience that the contestant is in college,
08:17and roasts him further.
08:18This boy in college.
08:22He enrolled in that now.
08:24He leaned into the mic and said,
08:27Read, Steve.
08:30Okay.
08:32I sure wanna see you shut your eyes and do it.
08:36It's even funnier when you realize that since it wasn't a fast money
08:39or round starting question,
08:41he had more time to think about it.
08:42We're not sure how exactly he reads,
08:45but it doesn't seem particularly efficient.
08:48I can't read.
08:49Number 9, Papa.
08:51There are many different types of bear out there.
08:54Polar, grizzly, panda,
08:56but believe it or not,
08:58Papa bear is not an official type.
09:00For this round, host Richard Dawson asks the contestants to name a type of bear.
09:05Not one to let his opponent get an answer in,
09:07this man quickly hits his button and answers Papa bear,
09:10and quite unenthusiastically we may add.
09:16What makes this moment so funny isn't necessarily the answer itself,
09:20but the man's reaction.
09:21He knows he messed up,
09:22but the words are already out of his mouth.
09:25We can only assume the 100 people surveyed were not fans of Goldilocks.
09:30I wonder where Goldilocks was.
09:33Oh, that bed was just right.
09:38Number 8, Jose.
09:40Give me a boy's name that starts with the letter H.
09:44You can see where the thought process was with this one,
09:46but come on.
09:47No way, Jose.
09:48When Steve Harvey asks contestant Anthony to give him a boy's name
09:51that starts with the letter H,
09:53Anthony slams the table and confidently blurts out Jose.
09:57Jose.
09:58His answer is obviously wrong,
09:59but it's Anthony's confidence that makes it even funnier.
10:02He's absolutely sure he nailed the question,
10:05despite the bewildered looks of both Steve Harvey and even his own family.
10:10As it turns out, the survey, unlike Anthony,
10:13knows that Jose doesn't start with an H.
10:15You know what does?
10:16Harvey.
10:17Number 7, Pork Upine.
10:20Name a word or phrase that begins with pork.
10:22He say, I got this, Steve.
10:24I got this all day.
10:25This answer has become Family Feud legend
10:28and is one of Steve Harvey's personal favorites.
10:31When Harvey asks the contestants to name something that follows the word pork,
10:35things do not pan out the way he expects.
10:38Not only does the first contestant fail to pronounce or spell pork loin correctly,
10:44but the man succeeding her then drops an absolute bombshell of an answer.
10:48Upine.
10:50Name something that follows the word pork.
10:52Upine.
10:53As in Pork Upine.
10:55Not only is the answer gut-bustingly stupid,
10:58but Steve Harvey's completely befuddled response and resulting tangent are now legendary.
11:03What is cupine?
11:05You know it's bad when your family laughs and Steve Harvey doesn't even say good answer.
11:10Pork cupine is not a damn word.
11:15Number 6, Alligator.
11:17Name an animal with three letters in its name.
11:21This is one heck of a family.
11:22As we saw earlier, when asked to name an animal with three letters in its name,
11:27the first contestant to go answers frog to everyone's amusement,
11:32and it only gets worse from there.
11:33His partner answers alligator to uproarious laughter.
11:37Alligator.
11:39And Richard Dawson puts a hand on his shoulder as if to say, well, you tried.
11:44The contestant explained that he thought the challenge was to name an animal with
11:47three of the same letters, but even then, alligator still doesn't fit the bill.
11:52It's just a massive fail all around.
11:58Number 5, Pie in the Horse.
12:05Well, we all knew this was going to be interesting.
12:07During Celebrity Family Feud, Snoop Dogg is tasked with performing in the Fast Money Round,
12:12where he has to fill in the blank, pie in the what?
12:15To which Snoop, devoid of all apparent logic, answers horse, because why not?
12:21Horse.
12:22Steve's response is priceless, as he legitimately doesn't know what Snoop has said,
12:28and when he figures it out, he proceeds to go on one of his characteristic rants.
12:32Well, Snoop ended up fulfilling Steve's prophecy after all.
12:36He ended up on YouTube, and we all had a good laugh.
12:44Number 4, Gynecologist.
12:46Gotta say, as bad as this answer was,
12:50no one has ever seen a look of regret come upon a contestant's face so quickly before.
12:56After being tasked with naming a job that is dirty but someone has to do it,
13:00Rocco says plumber.
13:01A great answer.
13:02Too bad the same answer was already taken by his Fast Money partner.
13:05Thinking quickly, perhaps a little too quickly, Rocco blurts out gynecologist,
13:10only to stand there in stunned and awkward silence with Steve,
13:14as the audience and his family laugh all around them.
13:17Rocco's family is never gonna let this one go, especially his wife.
13:24Number 3, Naked Grandma.
13:30Oh, sorry, not Naked Grandma, it's Naked Grandma.
13:33This bold answer is easily one of Family Feud's most popular,
13:37as it's been making the rounds on the internet for some time.
13:40Steve asks the contestants to name something a burglar would not want to
13:44see when he breaks into a house, to which Rod very passionately yells Naked Grandma.
13:49Steve doesn't like the answer, to say the least.
14:02And then, unexpectedly, Rod actually receives the points due to one of the answers being
14:07This has to be one of the biggest stretches in Family Feud history,
14:11but hey, it is technically correct.
14:20Number 2, September.
14:26This answer is at least right some of the time.
14:29When host Richard Dawson asks this contestant the question,
14:32during which month does a woman start to look pregnant,
14:35she gives an answer that, judging by her confidence and quick response,
14:39might be based more on personal experience than what a survey says.
14:43Dawson is so flabbergasted by the answer,
14:45that he even asks to reset the clock because he's too busy laughing to continue the game.
14:53As if that weren't enough,
14:54he continues breaking out into fits of laughter for the next several minutes.
14:58Sometimes, even the pros can't hold themselves together.

15:17Number 1, Mommy and Nana.
15:22Sheila must have been messing with Steve,
15:24because there is no way these were legitimate answers.
15:27Steve asks the Patterson family to give him another way people say mother.
15:31What follows is absolute anarchy.
15:34Sheila originally gives the answer, Nana,
15:37despite the person before her saying the exact same thing.
15:41After getting another chance, she says, Mommy,
15:43despite the answer already being on the board.
15:46She then gives Mommy and Nana as answers again,
15:50but pronounced slightly differently, while Steve slowly loses his sanity.
15:58What, are you trying to say it in Spanish or something?
16:01After finally saying Mom once more,
16:03Steve just stops the game before this madness can continue indefinitely.
16:07And it very well may have.
