00:13Migrant worker Secretary Hans Leo Kakdak announced that there are now 2,500 overseas Filipino workers or OFWs in Saudi Arabia
00:25who have obtained their unpaid benefits.
00:29We're hoping that there will be more fund releases as we go along.
00:36But rest assured, at this stage, 2,500 have received the benefits amounting to around Php1.9 billion.
00:44This is good news that it has brought good news to some in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
00:50This has prompted Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to discuss the financial settlement claims of more than 10,000 OFWs in Saudi Arabia
01:02who lost their jobs after closing down and declaring bankruptcy to some companies between 2015 and 2016.
01:12Kakdak is talking to OFWs who have not yet obtained their unpaid benefits.
01:20It's an inter-agency effort, finance, human resources, and other government agencies involved.
01:26The bank, that is the channel for the distribution. So we just need to be a little more patient.
01:32The agency is also working on ways to remove names that have been rejected and names that have been removed from the list.
01:41We're taking the names and submitting them. We're coordinating it.
01:46The names can still be removed and we just need to wait for a response or action from the Saudi side.
01:54Kakdak also said that the Saudi government has already transferred Php2 billion or equivalent
02:01of more than Php31 billion to the remaining OFWs who have not yet received their benefits.
