00:00The nose of HH229 opens with an incredibly soft haze of vanilla, creme caramel, sweet
00:13coconut, confectionary based notes derived from the American oak cask.
00:18Next cutting through that haze of sweet coconut and vanilla are the bright tropical pops and
00:22mandarin citrus note of Sullivan's Cove Spirit alongside ripe apple and light raspberry jam.
00:29Somewhere between the mid and top notes a lovely floral melody marries in well with
00:34hints of rose and waxy tropical frangipani.
00:37A deep herbal tea like element rests in the corners.
00:40Moving to the palate you're immediately struck by the incredibly silky and softly waxy texture.
00:45A thick body carries tropical notes of pineapple, dried mango, ripe kiwi and a heap of mandarin
00:51juice with ease.
00:52There is a notable lack of oak grip and tannin, surprising for a whisky of this age.
00:57It is soft and delicate, grounded by a subtle chocolate cake kind of earthiness which lends
01:02gentle structure to the broad texture.
01:05The finish immediately brings about dark chocolate digestive biscuits and a deep mint note, ripe
01:10cherries and summer raspberries and then it's back to tropical, pineapple, cantaloupe and
01:15a soft waxy grip carry a citrusy sweet train of dates, cheesecake and lemon curd along
01:20a very lengthy finish.
01:22We love this whisky and we can't wait to share it with you.
01:26It opens on March 20th.
