00:00Computer Science videos here today to show you guys in this tutorial how to
00:05move a folder from one directory to another directory on a Mac computer
00:09using terminal commands. Without further ado, let us start the video. So in this
00:14tutorial, you need to have access to a Mac computer to be able to use and
00:17implement terminal commands within the command prompt on a computer. So we can
00:22go down to the dock, go to launchpad search for the application terminal which
00:27should be built into the Mac computer. If not, you can download. However, it is.
00:30Let's just open up terminal, increase the size of the terminal window. We can
00:38increase the text size on screen. Let's now go all the way down to the dock.
00:43Again, open up finder and decrease the size of the finder window. Move back to
00:49the bottom right corner of the screen. You'll see why I'm doing this in a
00:53moment. Let's go back to terminal. Navigate to the desktop. List everything
01:01on desktop. Now we want to move the file folder from the desktop to the documents
01:07folder which is on screen. And so the command is mv tilde option n slash
01:16desktop as that's where the folder is being taken from. F file space option n
01:26again for tilde slash documents. And now let's just focus on the documents folder
01:38itself. Enter and there we go.
01:45The file folder on the desktop has now moved to the documents folder within
01:52computer science video. So we can now quit finder, clear the terminal and then
02:01quit the terminal. And so that's it for this video. I'll see you guys in my next
02:06tutorial. Thanks for now. Thank you for making it towards the end of the video.
