00:12Guys, Kobe Bryant's old locker is officially up for auction.

00:20Yeah, this is one of the crazier auction stories we've ever had.
00:23So the guys over at Sotheby's tell us Kobe Bryant's locker, which has been photo matched
00:28to all the way back to the 2003-2004 season, which he apparently used through the 2016
00:36season, which was his final season in the NBA, is now up for sale at their auction block.
00:41The way it got there is a crazy story.
00:43In 2018, Staples Center underwent some renovations and they said a maintenance worker kind of
00:48salvaged the locker before it all went into the trash can.
00:52It made its way through the years to collectors and now it's up for sale now.
00:56And they say it could sell for up to $1.5 million or even more than that.
01:01So a huge historic piece that was, again, almost thrown away years ago and now is up
01:05for sale for a couple mil.
01:06It's crazy.
01:07I mean, if you don't have Kobe Bryant's locker, are you really a Kobe Bryant fan?
01:12It's crazy because, you know, you have all these items that people collect through over
01:16the years, whether it's wristbands or shoes or jerseys and things like that.
01:19I have never seen a locker actually going up for auction before.
01:24But yeah, with a price tag like that, it's going to be a very rich fan getting it.
01:28But best of luck to whoever that is.
01:29Guys, these auctions almost never make sense to me when you're talking about, like, buying
01:35a player's game-worn socks or maybe like a jersey from their 800th game where they like
01:41barely did anything, but these go for so much more money.
01:45Like this makes sense to me.
01:47This is a locker.
01:48This is essentially a piece of furniture, and people spend so much money on furniture
01:54in their homes or their offices or in their man caves or whatever that is.
02:00I mean, there's a market for this is what I'm saying, and if you could have Kobe Bryant's
02:07locker in your trophy room, in your house, I mean, that makes a lot of functional sense
02:14to me.
02:15That is a really cool thing.
