Aftermath of Tornado in Murphy, North Carolina Shows Pick Up Truck Crushed and Crumbled
This pickup truck was twisted and tossed like a toy by a devastating tornado in Murphy, North Carolina, its mangled remains a stark testament to the storm's raw power. The tornado also destroyed the roof of the adjacent building and tore down a large signboard.

00:00Well, if you want to see the power of a tornado, this is what happened to the Sherwin-Williams
00:11truck that was picked up and thrown by the tornado 400 yards.
00:20They picked it up and twisted it and flipped it over and over.
00:31If you look all the way back where these folks are, there's a line here.
00:37You can see where all this fluid is.
00:41I'm going to walk that line right now.
00:48That gentleman's up about 50 yards right now.
00:53But that truck was on the other side of the Sherwin-Williams paint building on Valley Center Road here in Murphy, North Carolina.
01:03So we're still walking right now. You can see some of the fluid here.
01:11And it kind of loops, goes back over here where these folks are here in the red shirt,
01:17and loops back around where that big dumpster is there.
01:21So from there, it flipped it and spun it all the way back over there.
01:29Unbelievable.
01:32You definitely don't want to hide in your car when you're having a twister come through.

01:42Roof's torn off.
01:45Trees, telephone poles snapped.
01:51And we'll walk over here, and you can see,
01:59this is the sign for Alpha Music and Nate's Country Store.
02:08And Mike had a little bit of damage in there, some water damage.
02:12Sherwin-Williams is completely wiped out.
